hey people, i run about 30 or so mods on a 90 hour old world and lately its starting to randomly have freeze issues and massive lag spikes, one day i checked and noticed my RAM capped out at 31.8gb usage, any idea what can cause this? i tried disabling some mods and nothing really changes even with the ram optimization setting

on new worlds i have no issues whatsoever its just this happens after i spend a lot of time playing one world and i would really love to keep them going, it becomes unplayable right when the game is the best

it takes about 10-15 mins after starting up the world for the RAM to cap out and start freezing🫠

Welcome to the forums! A modlist would be handy to have here.

Sounds like a possible memory leak. Have you tried rebooting your PC? You'll probably also want to go check the modpages of the mods that you downloaded and see if any of them have known issues regarding RAM usage.

Aside from that, while it's probably a mod issue, the general way to figure out which one it is, is to disable the mods and ensure that vanilla works correctly first. Then re-enable your mods one by one and test them as you do so. That should make it obvious which one is causing problems.

hello! yes i tried rebooting, doesnt really change anything, and disabling mods didnt really make any big change, only when i disabled BetterRuins because its the biggest one, i still dont know wich one causes it, here’s what i play with if you have any idea wich could be an issue let me know!

A culinary artillery, animal cages, combat overhaul: armory, attribute rendering library, bedspawn, better firepit,  better jonasdevices, BetterRuins, BetterTraders, BloodTrail,Bullseye, Blacksmith Enhancements, Butchering, Buzzwords, Buzzy Bees, Combat Overhaul, CommonLib, ConfigLib, Diverse Diets, Draconis, Eternal seraphim backpacks, Expanded foods, Extra chests, Extra overlays, Farseer, Feverstone’s horses/wilds, firewood to sticks, Flee exhaustion, Foodshelves, Forgotten armory Gothic/Greenwich/Templar, a lot of the fauna of the stone age mods, From golden combs, Helve hammer extensions, Herbarium, Immersive lanterns, Jaunt, Joy of sailing, Long term food, Crossbows, Firearms, Medieval expansion patch, Millwright, Molds, Mountcamerafix, Spear-Expantion, overhaul lib, Pet AI, Real Smoke, Rivers, Shelf obsessed, SmithingPlus, StableSurface, Stone bake oven, Stone quarry, stone railings, Substrate, Teleportation network patched, Terra prety: coastlines and continents, The critters pack, Toolsmith, Universal husbandry, Creative mode, Essentials, Dear ImGui, Survival mode, VS village, Wolf taming, woodenfortifications.

Ok thats a lot more than i initially believed i use, not all of them are enabled now since i cherrypicked the bigger ones to disable to save RAM but it did not really work, those are the mods i started with, sorry for the long list 🫠

And yes good idea to check the mod pages ill actually do that right now but i doubt i missed any comment about them.

One way to narrow down the list to find the offender is to disable half the mods.   If you experience the issue, continue cutting half the mods until you zero in on the specific offender.   If you do not experience the problem, go to the half you didn't cut and continue the winnowing process.

I wish you luck in quickly finding the offensive memory leaker.
