I was wondering what the proper way to backup server data on a Linux host is
I discovered that VS doesnt seem to backup the world or corruptable data (like player data) OOTB
I have a few questions in this regard:
a. Is there a proper or intended way to backup server data
b. If not, what would the most convenient and reliable method. I assume a crontab
c. What folders r files need to be backed up

Stop the vintage story server first.
Locate the save file that the server uses, and make a copy. (for example copy my_server_world.vcdbs to my_server_world.vcdbs.backup)
Start the vintage story server up again.

That may not be the most efficient, but that does work till you can get a better manager for the task.

Is there any other files that should be, or need to be backed up? I just want to be safe rather than sorry.

That happens to be the main save file, and for the most part, all you need. You could make a backup of the contents of the Maps folder as well I suppose, but let me spin up a local server on my side, and see what files it generates before I give wrong information.
