Haranyan32 Posted January 19 Report Posted January 19 kind of annoying to fight these guys, i understand the stone throwing attack is there so you don't abuse terrain to beat them easy but they themselves will abuse that attack using it at point blank range and it's completely unavoidable that range meaning no matter how good you get at fighting them you always take some damage that adds up, it just makes them not fun to fight
LadyWYT Posted January 19 Report Posted January 19 Equipping a shield stops most incoming rock damage. Otherwise, equipping a full set of decent armor should stop most of the damage as well. And by decent, I mean pretty much anything better than improvised armor. Believe it or not though, the rock attack is actually very useful when fighting high tier drifters. High tier drifters hit hard, but the rock attack still counts as a basic tier 0 attack no matter what tier the drifter is. Getting smacked by a rock is preferable to getting smacked by a nightmare's sawblade arm.
Haranyan32 Posted January 19 Author Report Posted January 19 i guess so but i'm not wearing armor when i'm out planting seeds or chopping trees when i get snuck up on by them
OBAMFSpike Posted January 19 Report Posted January 19 Maybe im overly cautious, but call me PlateMail. Sometimes I even forget to take off my night vision goggles. XD

Definitely something worth working towards if you have access to the materials for it.

As @marmarmar34 also noted, leather will work fine as well. Aside from that, you may want to light up your base more and clear out brush so you can spot threats more easily, and fence off cave entrances to stop things from crawling out. That should cut down on unwanted visitors.
