Daniel Masarczyk Posted February 4 Report Posted February 4 I played VS for few years now but I never saw what I saw today. I went to the forest to collect this item requierd to craft ropes. To my suprise after some time i found HUGE hole, like 30 long and wide and 6 deep, not only that but huge portion of the forest was just gone, no trees only few leafs in the air. I have no idea what happend there. I had 2 boars locked near and they are gone of course. The hole looks like something exploaded there and burned some portion of the forest, however other portion is intact. Do anyone have any clue what happend? I have no mods.
marmarmar34 Posted February 4 Report Posted February 4 Sounds like a deposit of Peat Moss caught on fire. Do you have the option that allows lightning to start fires enabled? 3
Foe Hammer Posted February 5 Report Posted February 5 Ya it sounds exactly like a peat and forest fire, though it is lucky it did not keep spreading through the rest of the forest.

Rain i'd say, rain was the only reason a big fire i had stopped, it went for three days after ignition till a storm happened 1
Broccoli Clock Posted February 5 Report Posted February 5 11 hours ago, Daniel Masarczyk said: no trees only few leafs in the air There is your tell, the only way to get floating leaf blocks is if the trees are destroyed by fire, as the player cutting down the trees will end up with a timer culling any "unconnected" leaf blocks. That process doesn't happen when there is a fire.
marmarmar34 Posted February 5 Report Posted February 5 Sometimes when I'm traveling long distances, I'll randomly start a peat fire for the fun of it. It's pretty funny looking at the map and seeing the land deform days after you set the initial flame.
