Conquest of Blocks Posted April 12, 2020 Report Posted April 12, 2020 (edited) I recently was traveling at night and saw something at the night sky that reminded me of a tornado vortex and i was thinking "how cool and also frightening it would be, if this was actually a tornado coming right at me". Look at this picture: I know there are already temporal storms (which i turned off on my server, because i don't like the shifting effect, but that's just me). So i guess this won't happen. Just wanted to share the idea. Edited April 12, 2020 by Kai Effelsberg 1
Jameh Posted April 12, 2020 Report Posted April 12, 2020 I don't mind the idea of natural disasters, but they would need to be off by default, with the option of turning them on. If this is the case, then there's probably better features to be worked on, that will be benefitted from by more people. Still, a fine suggestion nonetheless, so +1.
tralen Posted June 19, 2024 Report Posted June 19, 2024 (edited) Know this is an old topic, but that would be awesome. I love tornadoes, such a powerful force of nature that could add another element to the game. I literally found this by googling "is there tornados in Vintage Story" Edited June 19, 2024 by tralen
TroverTheInsane Posted July 27, 2024 Report Posted July 27, 2024 Yeah having natural disasters like hail blizzards earthquakes and even volcanic eruptions that make life hell
Straille Posted July 27, 2024 Report Posted July 27, 2024 thanks for reminding me to set meteoric expansion's destructive meteors to true
Maelstrom Posted July 31, 2024 Report Posted July 31, 2024 Hail storms that cause damage already exists, as does being struck by lightning. Currently blizzards happen during snowfall with high wind. The snowfall will eventually create a wet modifier which makes taking damage from the cold occur quicker.
LadyWYT Posted July 31, 2024 Report Posted July 31, 2024 I feel like the tornado would be interesting...until it goes through your base, that is. Although stronger storms in the tropics would make those zones more interesting and hazardous.
