I've easily got 1000+ hours in this game, yet there is tons I haven't actually done... what's on your "to-do" list?

I dunno and I haven't been brave enough to go find out. 😂

Trader caravan.

I started one world, and was almost immediately attacked by a bear, but the trader caravan near spawn gave me some breathing space. It was camping me though, every time I went to step outside it would charge at me. I was able, however, to get off hits. It was tough as the reach of the bear was massive, but it's definitely doable. I didn't kill it, but I managed to hit it with my bare (bear, ha!) hands about 10 or 12 times. Enough to get it running away long enough for me to exit stage left.

While I never actually took the bear out, I believe it's totally possible to smack it's furry head enough times to take it out. Every hit was a bit of a gamble, and I took two good swipes which knocked me down to near death. At first I was like, "hell, yeah, take that", and dreaming of bear armour, pelts and meat right from spawn, but that second wallop sobered me up from being 'loot drunk' pretty quickly.

I saw you wrote you wanted to kill a bear, unarmed, but does it need to be done with honour or will some scrappy cheese do it for you?

I love my scrappy cheese and you know the story would be told in the funny story thread, but...it's just not the same as doing it legit. 😂 Generally when I do that kind of thing in the game, it's a bit spontaneous and something I roll with just to see if I can actually manage it, rather than utilizing cheese or coming back later with better gear and an actually good plan.

Where it tends to get the most interesting is when the creature tries to flee. Most larger animals are faster than the player, so once they start to run it's usually not possible to physically catch them. A few well-placed rocks might be in order in that case.

I agree with you, you want to be in the middle of the fight feeling like this..

...not just taking swipes at it from the safety of a trader caravan.

While I do not have nearly that many hours, and admittedly I have first hand experienced relatively little of the game, I do have two goals I would like to achieve.

The first is i want to build a massive mountain castle complex, probably more accurate to call it a palace city. The amount of time and tools that will be sacrificed to the great work alone will be an achievement lol.

The second is to make a collection of almost all the things lol. One of each ore cluster, maybe just the bountifuls, and likely one of every stone. I do not feel a drive to collect the butterflies, but i would not deny them an exhibit in the collection if I happened upon them. May even do some of the rock types complete with some simple information on the rock type and where it is found. Having a botanical section.
