ZanChirou Posted March 22 Report Posted March 22 I've been thinking that it might be a cool idea to add a way to dry the dyes into lets say pigments to store them in crates, chests etc. And then perhaps to reuse it we would have to put them into aqua vitae or maybe walnut oil (like with some paint in real life) , we already got walnut trees in game so why not add more uses. Just an idea. I'm not sure if someone hadn't suggested something similar tho, just hadnt stumbled upon it. 2

Mix some paint, fill a bowl, and then use a brush in a similar fashion to the chisel to paint marks on appropriate surfaces. Though I'd also like to see the pigments able to be added to plaster mix to create brightly colored plaster blocks. Those would be so useful to have for chiseling details and decorations. 1

Plaster as it is now though is a bit weird; excluding stucco, "blocks" of plaster aren't really a thing irl, it'd make a lot more sense to me if plaster was an item like daub that you can apply to earthen and stone blocks. And once an earth/stone block has been plastered or white washed, then you could paint over it. Wood and daub should be able to be painted without being plasterd. Speaking of wood and walnut oil, being able to oil woods to change their colour could be interesting too, but maybe that would add too many blocks, and there's already a lot choice in wood colours. Also there's no practical point to it since wood doesn't rot. 1

Yea the plaster idea that LadyWYT suggested is also a great idea, but i belive IRL the walnut oil is made from the walnut's not the walnut wood XD. But First Methanol was made from destilling wood so maybe it could have some uses as well, but i'm not sure if it wouldn't be too much of micromanaging since Aqua Vitae doesn't have too many uses so far, and personally i think i'd love it instead of adding another type of spirits, blinding one XD. I'd even be happy if we could like umm mix pigments with walnut oil or other oils (like seed oils in some mods if one of them were to be implemented into base game) and then use brush and paint(write) with it like with charcoal and maybe later it would be extended to free hand painting which would be awesome. Comming back to wood, i know there is no Ash in game, but if we'd had Ash we could have types of ash tree like in real life where Ash get's infected with some fungus and it created discoloration in wood or Bog Oak that is quite dark (i might be mistaken about a tree type, maybe it wasnt Ash) *Posted again because i failed to properly quote XD
