zZalo Posted March 27 Report Posted March 27 Does anyone know when is the 1.22 stable version going to release? Im dying to play this new version with better worldgen rivers and so on :). 2
Ceridith Posted March 27 Report Posted March 27 Short of a miracle, I don't see rivers making it into 1.22 at this point. We're already into release candidates, which should mean the version is feature complete but going through bug fixes and balancing. As for when 1.22 stable releases, that depends on how quickly the majority of bugs can be found and fixed to a point where the game is considered stable. With how things look to be going I would guess another week or two, but that's just my perspective of someone who has been playing through the 1.22 pre and rc releases. 3

From the first rc1 news post: Quote Rivers and Sawmills did not make it in time for 1.22 unfortunately (they are still in progress) 36 minutes ago, zZalo said: Does anyone know when is the 1.22 stable version going to release? No one except the devs, and even then I daresay it's more of a rough idea of when the stable version will be ready and less an absolute certainty. The current release candidates are supposed to be stable enough that players can go ahead and start a new world and have it remain playable into the stable release, but not stable enough for older worlds to be updated yet. While a lot of the major bugs have been fixed, there are still several more bugs to swat, and some of the content, like the procedural dungeon and new berry bushes, still have some rough edges that need to be polished. 4

Yeah, a lot of the final balances & fixes are why I'm holding off on starting up my long-term world. Just seems there's a few too many little issues still in the way of a not-frustrating playthrough so I'm holding off. Given the kind of bugs that are left, and the frequency of the updates, I'm going to make a guess that we'll have a stable release in the next 2-3 weeks. Which would put it on my initial estimation. That being said, this game has more mechanical changes than most previous updates, so I could be off depending on how much re-balancing they feel needs to be done. 2
