Banned from Discord Server after following Orders

Hello, Im therealstoneyhawk on discord. And I wanted to note I was banned for not moving to offtopic after proceeding to move to offtopic. What gives?

It is very very ontopic that a mod dev they brought on to help with combat committed the federal crime of hidden malicious code. Malware is inexcusable and if he's actively working on combat in the game that means he's not just a mod dev, but a game dev.

 

And as Diff noted. I followed orders. I did move to offtopic. So maybe that shouldnt be the ban reason

I know what I was actually banned for. 

 

Bottom line. I hate cheaters much as the next guy, probably more. I used to play R6 Siege for my college and after switching to CS and getting Spinbotted from 15k to 4k I literally quit all FPS games.

 

However Im also against Kernal Level Anticheat. No different from sneaking it in, even worse if it starts causing unintended issues.

If you want to appeal a ban, you'll need to submit a support ticket. The forums isn't appropriate for this kind of discussion, because a Discord ban isn't relevant to discussing the Vintage Story game.

And to my knowledge, there are two main rules in effect for the current Maltiez controversy, when it comes to the Discord. Keep it civil, and keep those discussions in the specified channel. Failing to follow those rules(or any of the other posted rules, for that matter) is likely to result in moderator action.

Literally one look at the timeline of messages rips your whole point apart too. I was warned immediately after mentioned mal was dev. Moved to off topic then was banned.

imo the discord mods moved the discussion to off topic" so that they could justify issuing 30 day bans with no warnings. especially since this is the fastest way to cull the discussion and silence the dissent. even if that wasnt why it is what's happening. people are encountering the news for the first time going to the discord to ask whats up and getting slapped with a 30 day ban preventing them from contributing or engaging with a very current issue with the game, moddb, and game studio. even if the mods are sick of hearing about it doesnt really matter eh? the community is not done talking about it. the community is not even done hearing about it and getting caught up on the news.

except for shadowfox. that person has the patience of a 100 year old saint.

I want to note. I dont think I was banned for not following the rules, as the ban happened long enough after I explicitly had. The ban happened because the mod probably felt called out, as I directly pointed out to him that A. maltiez was a game dev now and that it happened after my message of B Mal put it in configlib because its one of the most popular mods and thats the purpose of malware, to spread.

 

But if you're gonna ban me, I want the correct reason

You did move to offtopic, but the request was not to post about X anymore in main. And you did. In direct reply to the mod explaining why he made that call. Posting in offtopic doesn't exempt you from then going back to main later. You have the real reason, no gamer conspiracies needed.

Report it to the FBI. They have an anonymous online tip line, I've used it before, they respond quite quickly. Go ahead and put your gamer drama in there. You have that power as does anyone else. It's literally not possible to cover up federal crime by banning people on a Discord server.

whether the FBI take the case is a crapshoot. Code was malicious and it was put in one of his most popular lib mods to spread far and wide. It is BY DEFINITION malware.

Literally every single person that uses mods or even plays videogames is trusting some random idiot online to run hidden code on your computer unless you decompile and analyze every binary. That's just the power of proprietary software but I'm not going to get into all that right now.

I literally never go on Discord, I was just there for information on whatever [Current Issue] is. I wasn't even making any statements on the Maltiez situation here, I was only trying to explain to you what happened on Discord since you seemed confused. Its evident Im not actually confused. Im pissed that the mods are seemingly sweeping this massive issue underneath the rug. I know why I was really banned. They’re angry they’re catching flack from sweeping and now I have some random idiot on the forums telling me to be okay with it.
