Eliam
We are 5 people playing on a very small server (with no mods) I host. Today a very weird bug appeared. One of us started to receive damages from nowhere (no hunger, no poisoning) during day, with visual distortions as in a temporal storm, but he was the only affected. Soon after a lot of drifter started to pop from nowhere, including many tainted and corrupt drifters, on surface. At some time not far from 6 corrupt drifters were on and in our base. It was full day. We tried to restart the server, all the drifters immediately disappeared. But later it started again. When my "corrupted" friend disconnects everything get back to normal (after we kill the remaining drifters). But every time he reconnects, it starts again. At some point he choose to stop playing for the day. But soon after the same thing started to happen to another player. I tried to fully deactivate mob hostility with /worldconfig creatureHostility off and temporal stability mechanic with /worldconfig temporalStability false, without success. Drifters kept attacking us. I really don't understand what can cause this issue. Thank you in advance. Edited March 8, 2021 by Eliam
Streetwind
That's a feature, not a bug That person's temporal stability was low. Pay attention to the cyan gear in the middle of your hotbar. If it spins counterclockwise, you are in an unstable area and your stability is decreasing. If you open a UI element that frees your mouse (inventory or character sheet for example) you can mouse over the gear to see your current stability as a percentage. Below 25% you start taking damage, which starts very minimal but increases the further it drops. Below 20% (I think), Drifters start spawning near you. All worldconfig commands only take effect after a server restart. You will not see any difference if you just enter the command without a restart. 1
l33tmaan
Oh man, I hope your friend didn't make the mistake of trying to settle in an unstable area.

Thank you for your help, as we are all new players we didn't know that unstable areas existed on surface. That was the problem indeed. As the rest of the players were mostly exploring all day, they were not affected by the unstable area. We moved our base to a more stable zone.
