GeLioN Posted January 6, 2022 Report Posted January 6, 2022 I recently created a new world in 1.16.rc-6. I have probably killed approximately 10 rams in this world and not a single one has dropped fat. I have killed both males and females with the same outcome. I get the meat, bones and hides just fine. Is this a bug, or a change I am not aware of?
Philtre Posted January 6, 2022 Report Posted January 6, 2022 Did you notice what the animal body condition descriptor was (eg, "weight: good" or whatever it says)? If you started in a colder area, it might be possible for them to have the winter-underweight condition applied, since May is still pretty early in the year? (Nitpick: rams are male. Female sheep are ewes.)
GeLioN Posted January 6, 2022 Author Report Posted January 6, 2022 Thanks for your response Philtre. I think their weight said it was decent. I thought that may not have been enough, but had never seen a ram or ewe not drop fat in the past.
Philtre Posted January 6, 2022 Report Posted January 6, 2022 Sheep can definitely be underweight to the point that they do not drop any fat, but I think the point where they definitely won't is "poor"; above that they should have at least a chance, IIRC. So it still might be a bug....
GeLioN Posted January 6, 2022 Author Report Posted January 6, 2022 I will keep trying for now and see if I can get one to drop some fat. If not, I may report it. Thanks again!
GeLioN Posted January 6, 2022 Author Report Posted January 6, 2022 I just killed three more sheep. Two rams and one ewe, all with weight good and no fat dropped. Seems like a bug to me.
Satras Posted January 6, 2022 Report Posted January 6, 2022 I noticed the same thing. Only pigs seem to drop fat.
GeLioN Posted January 6, 2022 Author Report Posted January 6, 2022 Thanks Satras. I posted in the bug forum as well.
