RobinHood Posted June 11, 2022 Report Posted June 11, 2022 (edited) Scare away animals with fire, torch or campfire or bush fire. Animals are afraid of fire. In this way you could also protect something from dangerous animals (especially useful at the beginning of the game if you have weak weapons and armour). But the fire should not become too powerful. Animals get used to it. You can scare away a wolf e.g. 2-3 times, or one, two, three days. If the player are brave, he can even use a torch as a weapon against a wolf and so on Edited June 11, 2022 by RobinHood 5
Rendrassa Posted June 12, 2022 Report Posted June 12, 2022 Wild animals should definitely be afraid of fire, growing more tolerant with generations of domestication. 2
Nowweh Posted June 29, 2022 Report Posted June 29, 2022 I agree that wolves should be less prone to attacking a player holding a torch it makes sense. However if they are in a pack they should still attack players as they have strength in numbers, Or perhaps if they are low weight they become desperate and will brave the fire to try and get a meal off your bones. 1
Kevin Eric Snell Posted December 9, 2024 Report Posted December 9, 2024 In the middle of the night, I was interrupted by a burning boar squealing at the front door of my shack. Apparently he'd run through my pit kilns. When I went outside to butcher the corpse (which had disappeared), I discovered the burning boar had started a brushfire.
Thorfinn Posted December 10, 2024 Report Posted December 10, 2024 (edited) Yeah, they don't fear pit kilns, but it appears they now avoid brush fires. Used to be I could count on a half day of butchering carcasses after a major burn, but now in 1.20, I found only one. I knew of at least one brown bear in the region, but never found him. I think he may have been chased over the hills and is the one now living around my camp. [EDIT] P.S. Welcome to the forums, @Kevin Eric Snell Edited December 10, 2024 by Thorfinn
