I pack several days of supplies and pick a direction and run for days until I find it. That has always worked for me.

Option 3: Just make a pile of spears and run around around during the storm and spear them to death. Way more fun and it's pretty easy to do. I spent my first playthrough huddled scared in a room killing them but it is so boring. Run and Gun is pretty fun and easy. They are so slow you rarely ever take a hit except from a rock or two.

Temporal Storms need some variety but the concept is good for me. The great thing about the game, as people have posted, is you can just turn off all of the temporal stuff if you don't want to mess with it. One thing that might make your experience better is downloading a HUD Clock mod that warns you when the storm is incoming. I never notice the text saying they are incoming and the chat window goes away so fast that I don't have time to notice it.

I had something similar happen to me once and I just started a new game. I know that isn't much help.

I've started building my base at least 4 blocks high and then I climb out in the morning to survey the area for bears. Especially my first shelter because they always like to find me after the first night and try to camp me in my packed dirt shack.

Amen. I see resin everywhere now, but my first play through it was so hard to find.
