  1. A lot of content to be desired and a lot of features to come. Thanks for your insights, sounds solid, thanks for the anwser!
  2. As an experienced firmware engineer usually being called in with my team when companies are on the wrong track heading towards (multi million dollar) deadlines they cannot possibly hold on to with their past choices, I have seen my fair share of, well, "interesting architectures and management decisions". That being said, I appreciate this game with all its flaws. However, there is a reason games were released with a defined scope - and deadlines are important. This translates to everything: game quality and "polishedness", especially considering a team's knowledge and skill. You and your team know "the corpses in your basement" the best and some might be fixable with architecture hacks - breaking most mods and other ingame features. If you have not mastered test driven development - and it really is easy in C# to do so - look into it. Since you all have left the ranks of junior developers, but are far from senior positions - knowledge and project management wise - I urge you to consider the future: updating and reworking a flawed architecture when you are not bound to physical devices/hardware is to some extend ok, but will cripple and possibly break your entire company if done for too long: the cash inflow will die down. To financially secure your company, your team and project for years to come and to start - this time - from a rock solid foundation, meaning solid architecture (without breaking most interfaces on every major release) I must ask: will there be a VintageStory 2, are there plans to switch developement over to VS2? I'd rather pay again for a new title with improved features and know the company and development will continue, than having the company die of bankruptcy thanks to a never ending "fix feature fix" dev cycle.
  3. hey, thanks for letting me know! As of right now I will have to see if I can do something about that. You know, time is ever more of a constraint than anything else Update: Sadly, as the game doesnt seem to incoroparte more gameplay updates (no village, no mine carts, boats, horses - yet you need to walk forever to get stones and stuff - no enjoyable monsters (why shield so late? no clear vision... ), still no red-stone like logic elements and yet the performance is still hard sub-par (on a ryzen 5600, rx580, nvme ssd ...)) regard this mod as abandoned until further notice.
  4. Thanks! For the latest release I didnt have anybody to test the mod on a server with multiple players. So keep em coming those multiplayer bugs. I cannot easily reproduce them as I cannot connect multiple times to one server :(
  5. It is on the modDB now. And I took some of your advice to heart and reduced the ressource costs.
  6. Still need to look into it. Updated for 1.15.5RC
  7. We talked on discord, just putting this here for others to read: yes, but currently extremly busy so take it as a NO
  8. I agree. It should return the inkwell, so it can be filled up again at the barrel. However, a quill (without a metal tip) wont last that long. I doubt a real one would allow to write multiple books. After few pages one would have to cut off a piece to get a fine tip again. Feel free to chime in. I would like to add durability to the inkwell with quill: once the durability is at zero it should return an empty inkwell - no quill, tho. Because I would rather not have two different items required to be carried around for writing into the book. Overall the barrel should also be replaced by something made from clay (ceramic actually), becausue Iron sulfate would eat the wood
  9. You should be able to continue regardless by adding resin instead of honey. Yes, I see that I cannot empty out honey from the bowl into the barrel, I will look into it!
  10. modBooks! Latest version, download: GitHub/modbooks What to expect: This mod adds books and paper to write anything to share with your friends and server community featuring VintageStory's VTML parser. Be sure to check out the wiki page on the parser in order to understand all its functions! Writing will be done via the Book Editor that allows you to add up to 20 pages for books and two for papers. There is an extensive help entry in your survival handbook (default press "h" ingame) to help you on your journey how iron ink, writing tools and books are made. If you want to write anything you will need to craft various items: pencils, quills and inkwells! But an inkwell is incomplete without first chemically crafting you own iron ink: Once you have mastered the art of making ink and pencils you can start to make books you like! Books can be crafted in various colors, so you have some options: Be sure to make quests and share stories with your friends! I hope you enjoy this mod, have fun! Please help me find bugs and report them here! Thanks
  11. Check it out and help me find bugs by testing it in multiplayer!! Mod here:https://www.vintagestory.at/forums/topic/2770-mod-modbooks-write-your-own-stories/
  12. Setting up your barrel with limewater and tannin: With bucket selected in your hotbar: and holding STRG and clicking (right click) on Barrel will take out 1L of water (or 0,25L of honey) and put it into the bucket. and holding SHIFT and clicking (right click) on Barrel will put into the barrel 1L water (or 0,25L honey). just right clicking with bucket selecte in hotbar will transfer all content of bucket to barrel, if bucket has content, otherwise - bucket empty - you take as much as you can from barrel (max 10L, since bucket can only hold 10 L). You can always use more liquid in the barrel on your leather/ raw hide than nedded, so just put as many in as possible (maybe one at a time) and use the number that works. When there is just 4L or something left in the barrel, just take it out with an empty bucket, go with that bucket to a water source, take water with bucket and what was in the bucket before is now gone> refill your barrels! For pelt, no barrel needed, just animal fat and raw hide. Apply and wait. Pelt cannot be made into leather! For leather and all the steps: use raw hide with barrel with limewater, use knife on soaked hide, than put in barrel with light tannin, than in barrel with strong tannin. Note: there is a HUGE difference between pelt and leather! Be sure to know what you want.
  13. I do feel like tho some people dont "get" clay working: You start with a lot and take clay off. That is how you do it in real life. As with many handcraft professions you work "invers". The - studpendious - idea of going "on top like legos" is a mindset problem and does not in any way resemlbe reality: even with modern tools (cnc, extrusion etc. ) we always work invers. And once you understand this and learn to apply it clay working here is really simple and fast. Only the anvil takes a lot of time, but how often does one do that one? Exactly: once. Still think a "helping hand mode" would be good for reasons mentioned, but other than that I wouldnt change much.
  14. Known Bugs: - paper not synced for multiplayer - books author changed when picked up and placed by other player fixed: - add multiple empty inkwells to barrel, than add LAST one in itemstack will crash game - Iron sulfide should say Iron sulfate! Will be fixed with the next update. fixed - Cannot place honey once iron sulfate is already in barrel (neither with bucket nor with bowl) fixed - breaking block underneath is said to duplicate the book (bug in 1.12.0 ) fixed -overflow bug on pagemax 20 fixed To-Dos: 1.3.0: add animation
