  1. the wiki shares that cattails grow in temperate climates. can't say how far that is from icy climate, cept to say you'll need to go beyond larch and pine forests... 10k blocks south and then some? the way biomes generate, you could get lucky, and find a temperate patch closer. other than that, as you might know, though you won't find replantable cattail roots, you can sometimes gain cattails from a cracked vessel tough start, in the ice n snow, gl
  2. diving into creative, this is what i'm getting, the whole structure is seen as a valid room. 1st, 2nd, and 3rd floor are registering 5% so, idk if the checkerboard pattern helps or not (stopped testing after this build)...

  4. as good a spin as all the other spins, nice speculations and gap filling personally I like fragmented stories that allow speculation on the bits invisible. also, being familiar with the developing story has yet to demand real scrutiny (solving hat on), for answers that would allow the story to unlock/continue into the next phase. at the moment its an optional glance to those that might have a curiosity?

  7. just a tad bit concern that this thread that has been marked as archive, will not be seen by the right people (development). maybe open a new thread? or github bug report it (github has a form, requesting a few environmental things like version of client, running OS, mods...)? would be sad if you are the only one who has encountered this issue, and submitted a save file to go along with it
  8. interesting design, stacking. the wiki states that 50% or more must be glass on the roof. i wonder if a checkerboard glass layout as a roof might work. light doesn't bend, so it would be shafts of light from top to bottom between each floor. (note, for every 10 blocks of elevation, 1deg of temp is lowered.) and welcome to the forum @Arythazin

  10. something sounds not right. can't recall ever not gaining resin i'm actively havesting. the only issue is if my inventory is full, in which case the resin falls to the ground. so yeah, kinda sounds like a bug
  11. Not sure whats being asked exactly(?) VS rooms when built to spec (wiki), can provide a natural warmth, extend storage life, and act as a greenhouse. A walled in space (of any size) can be well lit, preventing mob spawns, and the walls prevent the wild from entering. So it depends on the wants/needs on how a space is built(?) or a space within a space
  12. I've had pulverized powder disappear though probably not your issue. What happened with me, the pulverized powder wasn't getting sucked up by the hopper underneath, and instead (as i later realized) despawned at floor level. ended up building sides above the hopper to better guild the powder into the hopper. seems to be more of an issue if i wander the distance that unloads the chunk.
  13. welcome to the forum not sure whats being asked(?) The large wooden gear allows up to 4 inputs or outputs to be connected depending on how one configures it. Personally I place a large wooden gear at the top of a tower, and then attach 4 windmills (facing each carnal direction) to power the large gear. the center shaft can then be attached to another large wooden gear below than can then power 1-4 mechanical devices. The wiki explains it, but not happy with the pictures it shows on attaching power sources, though if you understand whats going on, then it makes sense wiki: wooden gear

  15. stones throw from the tropics, and wanted apple, pear, cherry trees to produce 180 blocks up did the trick...
  16. from the wiki lightning "if you want to protect a specific area, the lightning rod must be mounted at least as high as the radius of that area. Example: a flat 15x15 area has a radius of 7 blocks around its center block."
  17. just curious, are you checking with the iron door open or closed (should be open on checking)...
  18. I needed to cntrl f1 (reload world) for the teleport to work (something needed refreshing idk)
  19. can't say what the issue is exactly, googling 'openal32.dll' speaks about this having to do with audio which is one of the things the newest version 1.20.4 was looking to fix again, not sure thats part of the issue, but i'd try upgrading to 1.20.4 stable and see if that cures the problem(?)   21. the way the game is designed at the moment, wanting a single wood block requires nerd poling or laddering to the top of the tree, and chop blocks starting at the top of the tree. thats fine, but an issue arises (for me) i've got a path block that just nicks the corner of a redwood tree and really want to chop 1 block out of the corner of the redwood. as it stands now, I can't, least not that i know of
  22. My limited understanding, as you might also have viewed already, a server can have 'rolls' as defined in the serverconfig.json file. It looks to have some robustness in limiting a number if factors. And then under the /land claim system, an individual has the ability to grant access to open chests but not place or break blocks vs build rights. I've yet to see a pretty gui (mod or otherwise) that hooks into either of these, kinda interested a management tool that takes a further step beyond editing a file with a text editor, or command line
  23. fun stuff, building elk access to the TL's. ride into the tl, hop off, watch the elk transport, jump into the tl next, while elk teleports back lol
  24. so maybe Local Area Network plus? think i get what your saying though, on a closed isolated network, should be self contain so no outside (the lan) validation is required (a downloaded token perhaps). aside from authorization, wonder what else the game requires from the www and welcome to the forum
