  1. The initial fire place counts as part of the 11*11*11 bounds, also I found out that charcoal flows in this image I set the fire in the bottom and it filled with charcoal so you don't need to place the fire above the firewood e.g F = firewood X = starting fire. FFX instead of X FFF FFF
  2. I did some tests with stair case pits, I think it supports my belief that deeper is more efficient but their are outliers. ^ In this image I would note that aside from max depth the deeper areas are most efficiently converted. ^ In the 2 leftmost pits the peak at 2nd most depth lost less than 4 layers of charcoal compared to the shallows left of incomplete pit which consistently halved.
  3. It would be cool if there were iron bacteria to get iron ore from, maybe it could spawn in peat or something like the hot spring.
  4. I had a gut feeling that the deeper the pit the more efficient so I deepened my 2 by 8 pit 10 down at its lowest but at 5 down I added a packed dirt "door" to my basement and the bottom spirals like a stair down. So far I am not sure if I was correct but what I do know is that the resulting charcoal is uneven and sometimes slides and falls disappearing still I get hundreds of charcoal. Maybe someone need only to make a few 11 block test charcoal stair pits.
  5. I don't think snow slows you but I can say that piled snow can act like a slab and thus if your running through a forest you could be catching more impassable branches to the face.
  6. Fat can apply to multiple hides for small and medium ones, anyway starting the leather making process isn't that difficult, if you found enough copper nuggets for a hammer and pick then you should be able to mine under the nuggets for enough for an anvil (9 ingots) and saw and chisel 2 combined. With 3 boards you can make a barrel and with 5 "hard" stone blocks that have been leavened (break the 8 blocks touching it) you can make a quern to grind lime bearing stones (or buy lime directly from a trader) this all now requires an anvil for saw and chisel. but finally with a ratio of 1 lot of lime with 1 liter of water up to 50 in the barrel you can soak the hides and they no longer rot.
  7. I am making chromium tanned hides, I know I can CTRL click a entire bucket/bowl/jug of liquid into the pot but how do I do that in reverse like holding shift and right clicking to take out a whole liter with a bowl. Right now I have to click over twenty times to move tenths of a liquid into correct ratios. please help give me the button combo to fill the container I'm holding with sulfates (also why can't buckets can't hold sulfates but barrels can?)
