  1. Looks very cool. Is there glass in that gap over the logs making an H in the right hand house? Shivers can probably climb in it there isn't.
  2. Leaded glass windows are not bulletproof glass, it's just glass in a gridwork of lead. If you threw a rock at it, it would still break. Go chuck some rocks at stained glass windows at a church downtown and see how they feel about it. (Don't do this.) If windows could actually be broken the fix would be shutters, but that would be a pain because windows can't be opened to close the shutters from inside (which would also let drifters in). No one wants to have to run laps around the house closing all the shutters outside before dark. Also I do not have a castle. I have a few one- to two-story cobblestone houses. One has a fenced in front yard, but building a moat never occurred to me. Slap a window up, go outside, put a solid block over it, then chisel away in the desired pattern. Unless I'm mistaken, projectiles would hit the chiseled block even if 90% of it is gone.
  3. I was joking, I know people claim to have seen it. It could all be a conspiracy, though.
  4. People do sometimes have "roosters" lay eggs. They shouldn't be able to fertilize other hens' eggs, though. It would be annoying to spend a lot of time corralling a bighorn ram and ewe and then find out the ram was a freemartin. Maybe don't implement this.
  5. I thought borax was a myth and then I finally found it. After several unsuccessful mine shafts in a 1.5‰ area I found a cave entrance and was going to probe it for distribution. As I was digging I saw a blotchy ore lower down and thought "I wonder what that is" just as my pick, which was accidentally still set on node search, told me there was a large amount of borax like RIGHT THERE. Still waiting for the devs to implement halite in the game.
  6. I don't have any mineshafts there, though thanks for the terrifying warning about them taking the ladder. I usually put ladders every other block and they seem to get stuck on them but I'll be sure to keep an eye out below. It wasn't a temporal storm. There is one of those dropoff caves on the other side of a fence from it, and farther away another cave entrance on the same side of the fence. Right now I'm going with it spawned in the tunnel and hiked out and over to my house? I have a couple mods but nothing changing spawns, just the better firepit and one that makes farmland drop blocks with nutrients included.
  7. I had a drifter groaning outside the door and when his head clipped in thought it looked different, and then when I killed him in the morning it was a deep drifter. There aren't any holes nearby he could have crawled out of (there is one but it is on the opposite side of a fence), so how is he on the surface? It is very low right on the shore of a big lake but shouldn't surface be Y level 1 regardless of its height above the mantle?
  8. I have noticed the sun is in the southern part of the sky where I am, and seems very low so I assume I'm pretty far north. I was wondering if I keep going north I would end up at the north pole and it would be at the far southern part of the sky, but what happens if I keep going? Terrain generation flips to the southern hemisphere of the next terrain band and you start moving north toward the equator, so does the sun suddenly flip to the northern sky?
  9. I had a couple lanterns but three or four oil lamps. I mined out a pretty large area so I guess it was just too dark in some places. I didn't realize oil lamps were so subpar!
  10. Thanks, I will add more lights! Since I was mining iron a block thick I didn't have it all cleared out two high. I had to take a windy way back to the ladder and some more spawned on the way, so I ended up with several on the bottom level. I climbed up the ladder and a couple came out of a side tunnel the next level up and hit me. I have most side tunnels blocked off but I was looking for copper on that level and guess it's not 100% lit up either. I usually don't block all the side tunnels if they aren't very deep because if I mine by day they seem pretty lit up even a few blocks in. I think I'll start dropping a wattle fence in each one. That should keep them enclosed I think?
  11. I was mining at high rift activity quite deep (around 0.25). I figured it was safe because I just got there so my stability was high, I was right at the mine shaft, and the room I'd dug out was lit up. My stability had dropped some but it was still near the top and I wasn't getting the creepy sound effects you start getting. I turned around and was shocked to see a tainted drifter. I bolted for the ladder and went up but had half a dozen drifters popping out of nowhere around me. I am the most cowardly wimp ever, so have avoided mining if it's not calm since (especially that mine since it's near the tier 4 spawn boundary), but wanted to see if anyone had more information because this doesn't seem well documented. I've been mining when my stability is so low the screen starts jumping, but nothing spawns. I believe that has been calm and low rift activity times. If it's apocalyptic out do you get drifters appearing in fully lit areas if your stability drops just a little?
  12. I knew there was lore stuff coming, but I didn't know there were fancy elk blankets, bugs, and water plants. And a billion new block variants. You guys were busy.
