My entire quern is flashing constantly, I try not to look at it so it doesn't give me a headache. The stop stays still while a ghost top turns and z fights with the stationary top. Minor detail, I'm enjoying the patch and found copper before fall when I was afraid I would not.

I'm getting a weird thing where the game runs normally and then suddenly acts like it's hanged for 15 s or so, and then goes back to normal. So far it has not crashed.

I hate to leave my first world but I think there's so much changed it is better to start new. I see there's a way to download old versions. Can you install two at the same time or just the one?

PETITION TO ADD CHICKEN NUGGETS TO VINTAGE STORY!
Lithembia replied to COMMANDER_GEB's topic in Discussion
No, we have chicken nuggets at home. -
I would like more map icons, like a bear or wolf face to mark areas where they spawn, a deer head to mark spawns of herbivores, and some kind of icon to show unstable areas. I have too many X's on the map.

I think if the gravel is in a biome where there is grass, it might spread, but if it's in a biome without grass, you can wait until the end of the world and grass will not spread to a dirt block placed there even if it's adjacent to 50 grass blocks in the neighboring biome. I just had to give up raising an area by covering a small patch of gravel in the middle of grass with dirt because the grass will not grow there.

A sad thing is that if a biome does not already have grass growing there, grass will not spread to dirt blocks placed in that biome. So you can't introduce grasslands into a desert or gravel biome. If you find a patch of grassy dirt, don't remove it because if you do it is gone forever.

Did they stay gone? Sometimes my animals vanish if I am returning from a trip away. I walk up and the pen is empty and then after a few minutes they appear. Bonus: Wolves and bears are invisible too.

I think it matters if they go into a cave or you lock them in a dark room. They can be outside at night without a problem.

Yes, you can use any whole blocks with material listed as Stone or Soil.

Every cook knows you add the ingredients in alphabetical order.

I see spyglasses or binoculars have been mentioned before. I would also like a placeable telescope. I have a tower that I like to look down upon my domain from, and a telescope would be nice for looking at the bear on the lake shore. Think of those pedestal binoculars you can find at tourist locations.

I would like to have a window pane with a sill inside (or outside, you could rotate it) that I can place something on, like a cool rock or a flower pot. It would be like a shelf with only the front two shelf spaces open. Maybe to avoid floating objects if the block below isn't a full block you could have the window block have a wooden sill on the bottom so the items have something to sit on.

I have only started one world in Vintage Story. Right around my spawn I found copper, bismuth, cassiterite, sphalerite, and iron. I'm also next to pine forests with probably a dozen resin trees nearby. As I've been exploring there are huge swaths of land with no ores to speak of. Other places there might be cassiterite, but you have to travel a kilometer to find copper instead of stumbling over it in the same mine. I'm scouting an area right now for a new satellite base farther south that has very poor to trace ores and was thinking I was glad I didn't spawn there. The only thing I haven't found that I would like is halite.

Sleep in linen pajamas. Bronze lamellar is uncomfortable and will leave those weird lines on your skin.

Looks very cool. Is there glass in that gap over the logs making an H in the right hand house? Shivers can probably climb in it there isn't.

Leaded glass windows are not bulletproof glass, it's just glass in a gridwork of lead. If you threw a rock at it, it would still break. Go chuck some rocks at stained glass windows at a church downtown and see how they feel about it. (Don't do this.) If windows could actually be broken the fix would be shutters, but that would be a pain because windows can't be opened to close the shutters from inside (which would also let drifters in). No one wants to have to run laps around the house closing all the shutters outside before dark. Also I do not have a castle. I have a few one- to two-story cobblestone houses. One has a fenced in front yard, but building a moat never occurred to me. Slap a window up, go outside, put a solid block over it, then chisel away in the desired pattern. Unless I'm mistaken, projectiles would hit the chiseled block even if 90% of it is gone.

People do sometimes have "roosters" lay eggs. They shouldn't be able to fertilize other hens' eggs, though. It would be annoying to spend a lot of time corralling a bighorn ram and ewe and then find out the ram was a freemartin. Maybe don't implement this.

I thought borax was a myth and then I finally found it. After several unsuccessful mine shafts in a 1.5‰ area I found a cave entrance and was going to probe it for distribution. As I was digging I saw a blotchy ore lower down and thought "I wonder what that is" just as my pick, which was accidentally still set on node search, told me there was a large amount of borax like RIGHT THERE. Still waiting for the devs to implement halite in the game.

I don't have any mineshafts there, though thanks for the terrifying warning about them taking the ladder. I usually put ladders every other block and they seem to get stuck on them but I'll be sure to keep an eye out below. It wasn't a temporal storm. There is one of those dropoff caves on the other side of a fence from it, and farther away another cave entrance on the same side of the fence. Right now I'm going with it spawned in the tunnel and hiked out and over to my house? I have a couple mods but nothing changing spawns, just the better firepit and one that makes farmland drop blocks with nutrients included.

I had a drifter groaning outside the door and when his head clipped in thought it looked different, and then when I killed him in the morning it was a deep drifter. There aren't any holes nearby he could have crawled out of (there is one but it is on the opposite side of a fence), so how is he on the surface? It is very low right on the shore of a big lake but shouldn't surface be Y level 1 regardless of its height above the mantle?

Latest Sky Astronomy Update Observations/Suggestions
Lithembia replied to IronOre's topic in Suggestions
I have noticed the sun is in the southern part of the sky where I am, and seems very low so I assume I'm pretty far north. I was wondering if I keep going north I would end up at the north pole and it would be at the far southern part of the sky, but what happens if I keep going? Terrain generation flips to the southern hemisphere of the next terrain band and you start moving north toward the equator, so does the sun suddenly flip to the northern sky? -
I had a couple lanterns but three or four oil lamps. I mined out a pretty large area so I guess it was just too dark in some places. I didn't realize oil lamps were so subpar!
