Game Crashes when Trying to Remove Anvil from Mold.
Your_Fellow_Fern replied to Your_Fellow_Fern's topic in Discussion
Update- chiseling an offering to the Anvil god. Will post pictures- -
I've been playing on the Official Vintage Story Server, and I've just made my first copper anvil. When I try to take it out of the fireclay mold, the game crashes. Does anyone know when this will be patched, or how to fix it if I'm doing something wrong? (I'm on the latest snapshot-) Thank you in advance!

Thank you so much!! I really need to do something like this in my current world-

image.png John Deere was my Elk in my first Vintage Story World (I literally got the game because I saw that you could ride elk), and I absolutely cherished him. Unfortunately, I had left a pit unfilled and a bear had wandered into it, and John Deere came loose and ran into the pit. He unfortunately passed away- ever since, I've wanted to do some kind of monument for him, so I decided to make a statue of him! I have yet to actually create a place for the statue to go, so any ideas would be amazing! (The last photo I took of John Deere.) (The tile floor ((Inspired by an image in one of the Dev Logs on this forum)) I spent forever on in John Deere's stable.)

Pie crust toppers could be voxel-based, much like clayforming, in order to allow custom pies! Maybe there could be a way to create a specific 'cutter' for designs so you can easily replicate them?

Whoops! Didn't even notice that- LOL!

With the addiction of the Elk, I thought it would be really interesting to add some kind of beast-of-burden to the game. You could put more storage on these animals than you could elk, but they would be unrideable. You would have to 'drive' your herd in order to move the resources along. This could add really unique interactions with predator animals, as well- you could have to defend your herd from wolves or bears as you move them to a build site- or have to move the herd often in order to find fresh grazing.

The music boxes that we find in ruins could be able to play little music-box covers of tuning cylinders- You could right click the box with whichever cylinder you'd like to play, hold down right-click in order to wind it, and then the cover could play. I really enjoy all of the little details in this game so much, and I think that this could be a good way to be able to play the tuning cylinders in the early game. Plus, I think the the Music-box renditions would be really charming.

Downloading this immediately!! Thank you!!

Glad you all agree!! I love the ambience of windchimes but I'm currently unable to have any where I live, so having them in Vintage Story would be really nice!
-
Wind chimes could be added in order to gauge windspeed quickly and effectively, and function as a form of decoration! I've personally had issues with finding the best time for Helve-Hammering, and having a chime that changes in frequency/volume depending on the windspeed would be a very helpful notifier. Perhaps the chimes could come in different material types and create different sounds?

Couldn't find them after about 30 minutes of searching so I spawned one in. Thank you everyone for your help! -
Elk not spawning after being Purchased.
Your_Fellow_Fern replied to Your_Fellow_Fern's topic in Discussion
(The land that the trader's wagon is on is a mixture of woodlands and crag- so maybe the elk spawned underground after being unable to find a suitable spawning location?) -
Effectively what the title says. I grinded for 100 gears, went to the trader and bought an elk- Unfortunately, I've scoured the area and have been unable to find the Elk. The Trader's dialogue even confirms that I've bought the Elk, yet no Elk has appeared. Any help would be appreciated.

Options to edit hair after Character Customization.
Your_Fellow_Fern replied to Your_Fellow_Fern's topic in Suggestions
Thank you! -
I'd love for there to be a way to edit your character's hairstyle after initial customization- maybe basic changes could be made in the Character Sheet, and more would be unlocked as you progress. (You could only put your hair up/down in the Character Sheet, once you've made shears you could cut it, and possibly a mirror in the end game?) Maybe even a hair growth system that could be toggled on and off? I really enjoy worldbuilding in Vintage Story, and I always want to include cultural practices in appearance- so I'd love to be able to have this feature.

Option to Reduce Motion When Consuming Alcohol.
Your_Fellow_Fern replied to Your_Fellow_Fern's topic in Suggestions
Thank you! I've looked in the Accessibility Section, and have had a lot of the options turned on for a while now, but there is - unfortunately - no effect on the Drunk filters. -
I have issues with motion sickness, and I am really, really greatful that there are options built in that let me be able to play Vintage Story- However, I've created a large storage of different types of Alcohol to be consumed over winter, only to be met with the realization that I'm unable to due to the filters- The screen distortions really make me motion sick. I'd really appreciate it if an option to reduce the drunk filters could be implemented. Thank you so much!
