  1. to repeat 'uncompromising' is not synonymous with 'tower defense'. Stormworks is ''uncompromising', stationers is 'uncompromising' and neither of those game even have monsters lets along tower defense.
  2. you are not making any sense. Storms in real life are not global I have no idea why you thinnk they are and you can in fact go to one and yes you can avoid them by going away from them. Try watching storm chasers
  3. wrong. what you are suggesting is a tower defense game. 'uncompromising survial' does NOT intrinsically mean 'tower defense'
  4. I have zero idea what that means but I will be sure to tell some real life storm chasers that you think storms are global
  5. Fishing is for early game and it works for the early game food balance given berries.
  6. what good is fat and leather going to do you if you do not even have copper yet? of course fishing is for early game, that is rather self evident. Early game for food, late game for collecting pretty fish, this seems rather obvious
  7. are you actually trying to take the position that real life storms are commonly global using sophistry? I will be sure to tell the storm chasers that storms are not local the lengths people will go is astonishing. remind me a bit of 'its perfectly reasonable to get 64 units of clay by sand panning if you cant find a clay depsoit.
  8. no..absolutly positively not 7 Days to Die has cornered that market and if one wants that experience 7 days to die is the way to go. Why NOT play 7 days to die in fact?
  9. From my understanding there is not a river system in 1.21. It would be nice to get a written update on the 'river feasibility study' that from my understanding was being done as well as 'procedural dungeons' . I understand those two things are not in this current RC but it would be nice to know how it is going thus far.
  10. holy smokes! That is a lot of information related to me trying to get a confirmation if you specifically do or do not interact with storms. this is becoming entertaining. I best be careful its too tempting. Time to punt this is going sideways quick!
  11. you have said that you do not interact with storms. so......
  12. Its self evident. Are you taking the position that storms as they are for most players are a compelling feature that might even rise to a level of being why they play?
  13. why is a feature that nobody likes, most people avoid and/or completely indifferent to, important? because Tyron has it in the game?
  14. move on folks, I am done engaging on this very off topic assertion (which yes was partly my fault) Back to what I said. there is nothing about the traders changes that I like, not a single thing
  15. I know I was trying to use an example of 'something that nobody likes but is also distinctive in a game' maybe drop it? why use it just because its distinctive and nobody likes it
  16. perhaps, I can not think of one but I would ask 'why would that be important?' Let me think of an example: Example: maybe one would say 'micro transactions are distinctive in game X' ok...does that mean we need to focus on that? Perhaps I mean to say why is it important? why is something that nobody enjoys or likes important?
  17. no, this is not going to work with me.
  18. I do not know what TOBG means but I disagree with the assertion that the distinctive feature of VS is storms and chiseling. Storms are really not that compelling to this game play, I really doubt that is why they are selling so many copies, because of storms.
  19. ok, I read that a few times and I dont have clarity on it but I will take your meaning. I just disagree, lore always takes a backseat when it comes to video games. Many games and in fact many developers even, fall into the myth that lore dictates the game but nope, its the other way around when it comes to compelling game play. Regardless, one thing the video game industry does NOT need is another doom and gloom violent simulator
  20. except you didnt say that. I do not see anywhere in what you said that suggests 'games without lore can be good too" maybe point it to me directly regardless, when it comes to game play, lore takes a backseat to everything, lore supports the feel, not the other way around
  21. I could not remotely agree with this statement. I mean not mining? not farming? not smithing? mechanics? For me what brought me into the game was smithing, farming and machines.
  22. oh, my bad most likely. Yeah I am not a fan of the architecture but I am also not a fan of lore in video games at all but even more so the general 'vibe' of the lore in this game. not a fan at all, which is why I turn off storms and stability and all of that. The architecture reminds me too much of 7 days to die which I played for many years but I am done with that kind of game play. super not intrested.
  23. sorry but the ladders are anyoying and I am sorry that fact might hurt the lore. I do not like the traders litearlly nothing about any of these trader changes, and I could not remotely care less how much the changes might affect the lore. are we seriously here suggesting that the traders need to have ladders becasue of the lore? am I understanding this correctly?
  24. reference: In the old version it took 3 hits with a copper spear to kill a boar if I recall correctly. In the new version when I was crouched and aimed well, it took me 3 hits with a cooper spear to kill a boar. so the same. I have not studied it closely though to be fair.
