Vintage Story is not supposed to be an adventure game, hence the different project. And Tyron has already stated that Glint will be different than Hytale.
-
1.22 will be the biggest update in regards to features yet. So i'd argue this game is going strong forward.
-
The Glint project is still going strong if that's what you're worried about.

Fishing in a 3d videogame not built around fishing
Michaloid replied to Venusgate's topic in Discussion
Tyron already said that the game will have a hybrid system. With a bait, you fish in water with fish, and they'll bite it, but if there's no fish, you can fish anyway, but the value of the drops will be halved. So if a normal fish is 100 sat, then a MC fish will be 50 sat instead. I'm not sure if there'll be more, but we'll see. -
I guess they really did give the game up and let it down.

Can't believe the cookie rickrolled all of us.

What do you guys think about the recent Bluesky posts from the devs?

Yeah, i have no idea why they put their devlogs everywhere but here. -

It's still early to say for sure though. -
Well, you'll have fishing, advanced forgery with tool stats and various mechanical power parts. So shallow this update won't be. I'm so excited.
-
I think you're shooting way to early, i think the preview versions will come early 2026 around Jan-Feb.
-
The Feb devlog stated that 1.23 would be a story chapter. But in the recent Tyron interview. Tyron said that maybe after 1.22 the game will need another feature update. So idk.
-
Have you checked the devlog in the discord server?
-
Seems like the problem has been fixed. So instead i'll give a fun fact. If you crouch and aim your beam, the beam will snap in a 16x16 grid as opposed stood up.

God please, i don't want every devlog to be locked because of a couple bad apples in the comments. What's with the sudden entitlement all of the sudden? "I DEMAND RIVERS AT MY FEET WITHIN AN HOUR!!111!!!1!" "THE DEVELOPERS ARE TRYING SOMETHING NEW, AND I HATE IT!" while explaining nothing of what the game or the devs are doing wrong just to bait heated conversations. I'm tired boss.

I mean, like Minecraft, you can take year-long breaks if the current state of the game is not doing it for you. Adnyous had the right idea for those fatigued with the pace of the updates. Sounds like the only thing that's missing for you is the rivers, which then i refer to my last reply. Even i take month breaks sometimes. Because it's boring me a bit but then when i come back, i'm spending numerous nights away playing the game. It's about letting your brain rest for a while and concentrating on other things. This kind of game does drain brain power because you need to be attentive to many things to not lose. Which exasturbates the need to want more content than you have, and giving you a false sense that there's not much going on in the game.

If it's so easy to research, then why don't you mod rivers into the game without cutting the whole map or having performance or compatibility issues with other mechanics/mods? Clearly people want rivers, and no one can do it without breaking anything, otherwise people wouldn't be complaining so much about ImNuts42 whole ban situation. Also because he seems the only one to make rivers with currents. But the tradeoff is rivers cutting through the map and various compatibility and performance issues. If you understand the engine so well and want to see it so bad in-game, why don't you mod it and show it to the dev team. I'm sure they would be impressed, perhaps even consider hiring/commissioning you.
-
But the thing is... It's not. Just because the game doesn't please everyone doesn't mean it's bad or something needs to change. It means that the developer will focus on his strengths to make the game to appeal to a certain demographic. Even if the cost of such a thing is cutting down on it's popularity as a whole. Also that count you see on the site is people playing on servers. It doesn't account for single player worlds or ad-hoc hosting. I'm not saying that the game is flawless. That's not my argument. But you won't see the dev team make charcoal processing be made on the firepit either. Because that defeats the purpose of what it's trying to be.

But the trader will still be in their designed "spot" regardless.

They operate through the land claim system. So typing /land adminfreehere while standing in the cart, the claim will be unclaimed and you can do what you want then.

It's the elevator in particular that caught my eye on the roadmap. The amount of quarry zones that players can build to descend or ascend would make 10x better with an elevator. And the status system is something i'm looking forward too. Maybe it's here that sleep gets useful outside of waiting for stuff? Really excited.

I don't think that this claim will ever go away unless the game does away with the blocks. Minecraft is the teacher, so everyone looks at it and anything that resembles it close is a minecraft clone Nothing anyone can do. Even for the devs.

Narcosis. The ragebait is over. You can discuss the post now.

Could you spoiler that last part by highlighting and clicking on the eye? some people haven't reached that part of the story-

Hide? Where's that option?
