Looking for a fantasy rp cooperative server with mods and teamwork
wurms replied to bean boy's topic in Multiplayer
hi bean boy, I am on smiley's server and its pretty good and cooperative! Though I will say there aren't always a bunch of people on. Due to server tweaks, you are highly encouraged to play with others pretty closely (I've tried surviving out there alone and it is HARD) That being said, you may need to coordinate your playtime with other players depending on your time zone, as different players are on at different times. The server as smiley said is more grounded and focused on roleplay and town-building. We aren't in steel yet as we have kept progression gated to iron/bronze. You can also try your luck with Vintage Rift, it has a ton of players and is heavily modded and fantasy themed. When I played there though it had some mild lag issues and it might take you a while to find a group to play with. These are just the servers that I have played on so far, but I am sure there are many others looking for players. I saw a thread about one called kingdom of Ironfall that was similar to what you're talking about, but there wasn't much info. They do have a discord so maybe ask around there to see if they are what you are looking for. It can be frustrating finding a good server, as vintage story isn't a huge game, so typically even large servers will feel 'empty' sometimes. That being said, it is a lot of fun if you can find a group that plays regularly. Hopefully you can find a server to play on soon, good luck!- 3 replies

How many players do you have so far? I am totally down to join but I don't want to play if the server is depopulated yknow? Archivist sounds fun. I would be down to play that if you are still looking for one. I should mention I am new to multiplayer, so if you are looking for someone more experienced that's alright. I am not active on discord anymore, but if necessary I can join the server. This project sounds very interesting, though the rules are quite expansive and I will need to re-read them once or twice before playing haha I'd love to tell some stories with you guys! EDIT: I'm around US East region (Canada) if that matters

There used to be (and maybe still is) a server for the other block game which was a dedicated worldbuilding server. I remember watching some of those videos and even playing a little bit on the server but the queue was too way long. The server was called StoneworksMC (after the eponymous YouTuber) and was a dedicated worldbuilding/nation-building server set in the imaginary world of Rathnir. It was pretty cool because I enjoy roleplaying, nation-building and learning the lore. I was wondering if there is anything like this for Vintage Story? I have seen many servers advertising as such but as someone who hasn't played multiplayer before and no longer uses discord, I don't know as much as I would like to. I want to play this game with its lovely community but am unsure where to start. I am looking for a large(ish) server (ideally around 15-30 players on at a time) that focuses on city/kingdom building, worldbuilding and lore, and regular roleplay interactions between players. I am not too particular about other things such as mods or whatever, but I am looking for an active server with friendly players and staff. Fantasy theme is cool, though I would prefer to play in a more realistic world. The in-game server browser makes it seem like there are only a few big servers and many empty ones, is this the case or are there de-listed servers that are thriving? I'm in eastern Canada so I am also looking for somewhere English-speaking and hosted not too far away. I am fine with new or established servers as long as they are active and not just singleplayer with a couple other people on I know many servers are whitelisted and use discord, but seeing as I stopped using mine, I would prefer non-whitelisted servers or communities which don't rely as much on discord. Sorry for the long post. If anyone has any recommendations I would appreciate it.

new I just bought the game, what are your tips for just starting out
wurms replied to neoladdTTV's topic in Discussion
The best advice I can give is to read everything. Pay attention to tooltips, the handbook, the chat log, the info box at the top of your screen, etc. Generally speaking the game is pretty intuitive after you orient yourself to its controls and hands-off approach. Early on, food will be your greatest struggle as you play as a hungry little fella who eats like 20 steaks a day! Securing stable food opens the game up significantly. Use the tools the game gives you to your advantage. Mark everything you find on the mini-map, and use the handbook if you are unsure how to do something or what to do next. Try not to let your guard down unless you are in an area you know is safe. Playing absent-mindedly can be very dangerous, especially early. Stay alert out there! Take your time and be methodical early on, as it is the hardest and most unforgiving/punishing point in a playthrough. Its okay to barely get by for your first few days, you are trying to survive starting with nothing after all. In terms of getting a good start, there is a lot of RNG involved and honestly don't worry too much about your world spawn. Travel and exploration is a core part of the game and regardless of how nice your spawn is you will have to travel to find some resource or another at some point. It's always okay to restart and use newly acquired knowledge to do better next time! This game becomes easier the more you learn about it! For your first base, just try to get a roof over your head to protect from the elements and other dangers. For choosing a permanent place to settle, any location with a relatively flat area with access to fresh water and wood not too far away is a good choice. But if you find an area you really like that differs in some way you can ignore any or all of those criteria. Do what sounds fun! Note that on default settings, some areas are temporally unstable (they make your gear next to your health bar turn counterclockwise) and will slowly make you go insane by being there. If you dislike this I think there is a way to disable it but I don't remember exactly how. Remember the basics of survival: Shelter, Fire, Food, Water! (you don't need to drink in vanilla but water is still necessary for progression). Welcome to Peak Story and have fun!- 17 replies

Hi hello I have played this game for ~200 hours, though this is my first forum post. Asking here because I don't use discord anymore. I started my world back in 1.20 I believe, I just came back after a hiatus and an issue has come up regarding story structure generation (don't worry no spoilers in this post) An in-game pop-up notified me that the treasure hunter trader failed to generate due to interference from player-built structures. It recommended going into creative mode to place one manually. I have found many traders in my world (back when they were in wagons :p), but never a treasure hunter. I even bought a map from a nearby commodity trader that said it would lead to a treasure hunter outpost. Upon using the map however, it kept throwing error messages in the chat log that it the map couldn't find a location or whatever (don't remember the exact wording) so that was a bust. I don't want to bother with that and would instead rather find one naturally. My question is this: do treasure hunter traders still spawn naturally like they used to? If I explore enough new chunks is it possible to find one? I am not sure if the game considers them "unique" and will only try to generate them once (as the in-game popup implied was the case for other story locations). If anyone knows if I can still find a treasure hunter 'naturally' please let me know!
