On near death at spawn while testing potential new worlds recently, gored by boars that were attacking as soon as i materialized and i barely got into creative airborne
I like to cave dive and have found a lot of my metals that way but having the ProPick augments that and not everyone plays a Blackguard who likes to spelunk
I build all my farms in 3x3 squares with the water in the center, keeps everything moist and compact and is easy to scale up or down as needed. Never bothered with watering them except by rainfall if it happens.
I havent had the set peat on fire by pit kiln directly happen to me but some did burn in the great fire that started from a missed patch of grass by a pit kiln that burnt out a huge area of scrubland and only stopped with the rain storm 3 days later
Nothing is "holding us back", we are playing in a game thats still actively being built and what we have in this thread is the common perception that the player knows whats "best" for any given game when the reality is that the player very rarely has anything useful for the game but knows only what they want from it.
Till the start of 25 i played on a 10 year old PC with a 8 year old GPU just fine, i cant say really i ever noticed the loading times being too long, i also was connecting to a server in the EU from Australia so that skews load times some what.
Have iron or better spears but you cant throw them, just let you poke things at a longer reach ~ particuly if one could fight from behind an ally if in multiplayer
