  1. So excited to see 1.22 stable! Now to binge on my fav game. Thank you for the teams hard work.
  2. I assume you can fish in the sea or coastal areas. Those are usually quite large so it opens up a greater opportunity to find a fishing spot, I'm just guessing however as I have not tried 1.22 as yet. Also hoping you do not need to travel too far once a spot is fished out, and not have to find a different pond/lake.
  3. Hi, really looking forward to playing 1.22 when stable is released. One of my biggest struggle is finding food early game, especially if I start on a server in winter when food is scarce. With the introduction of fishing: Can you fish early game, and is it enough to sustain you food wise until you can get a steady supply such as a crop farm? Regardless, Ive always wanted fishing in VS and now its finally arrived! My cosy game is got more cosier. Sitting on my backyard porch overlooking a river and fish while watching the sun set.
  4. When I first started VS years ago, I ran into the same problem. What solved it for me was follow Minecraft build tutorials, especially the medieval ones, there are so many out there compared to VS build tutorials. Minecraft blocks are very similar to VS and you can follow some amazing builds step by step. Once you are familiar with a style you like, tweak it to use more unique VS blocks, roofing tiles and chisel to refine even further. Now I just look at pictures for inspiration as others have stated rather build tutorials. Good luck!
  5. Wait...so as long as I'm above ground, even inside a cave such as a mountain, I can grow things? (without turning on underground farming). I have seen some really beautiful caves with a river running through on some servers.
  6. This is so awesome, would love to try this as I usually start inside a cave and make my way out to build a farm, however, I see you have a farm and trees inside a cave, is this possible? I always thought they needed sunlight.
  7. Speaking strictly from a PR perspective, Minecraft hit the jackpot with Youtube. It became viral, content creators monetised it's gameplay and tutorials, drawing in more content creators looking to strike that financial itch while playing an easily accessible game. Along with TikTok, the audience hit the generation of addictiveness. Vintage Story, has a much lower PR profile, relying on word of mouth and while there are content creators on Youtube and other media platforms, they pale in comparison to the Minecraft juggernaut it has become. VS is seen as niche, aimed at a specific audience.
  8. VS is my cozy game that I always seem to gravitate back to. No matter where I am in the world or what other games I'm playing, there's always a bit of me that misses Vintage Story and I end up coming back. The visuals and sounds of the wind swaying of the grass, the seasons, the sandstorms in the desert, the feeling of safety in your little house you've built by the lake when it's dark outside and now they have fishing!!! I understand you completely OP.
  9. Hello. We run quite a large server, so the turn out for our events is usually quite large, which may cause lag for some people with a high view distance. With that in mind, organisers of that particular event made the circuit not too large to accommodate view distance turned down, with the last stretch, a straight going through the stands where most of the people were watching from.
  10. A community driven server event, our first annual Elk racing event.
  11. Hello, Is it possible to view your character walking in 3rd person, while being able to pan the camera around your character similar to that while you are on a raft? I cant seem to do it while walking on land, whenever I pan the camera, the character turns in that direction so my view is always behind. Trying to produce a short film for Youtube. Any help/tips is much appreciated.
