  1. almost, its a lot of the settings around mid to max, and a lot of render distance, and just a lot of luck with the seed i use, also perspective and getting lucky with the lighting the tedium is what i enjoy about it tbh, but ive always liked games i can really sink my teeth in to. it is indeed very cozy, ofc with its not so cozy elements, but i like the blend of both, seeing some more of the unsettling elements grow over time is something i actually want to see, just makes the calm all the more rewarding at least to me
  2. i just wanted to make a small post talking about the game, but mostly what i means to me, this might be a bit sappy or cringe but eh i feel like sharing my love for this game. vintage story is one of the few games where im actually able to relax and enjoy myself when im all on my own, not a lot of games allow me to let my guard down or just enjoy the moment all that much, my brain is not the nicest place to be at times, and now with migraines being a daily thing, its nice to just have somewhere to exist. even if im scared out of my mind a in a cave im still having a good time, in a bit of a sad way i superpose its a way for me to function more then i actually do. for a wile now ive stuck with the same world seed, seeing it change form update to update, somewhat similar but not always the same, some caves change, or ruins in different places, and with rivers coming some time in the future im exited to see what that dose to it as well, every big stable update i start over, make the world again build something new, do something different, even if i know where some stuff is it always feel fresh in some way. im not so sure what my main point with this post is, maybe just to say thank you to the dev`s for there amazing continued work, or just to share my fondness for my experiences with this game, either way i look forward to seeing what comes next, and what little or big changes i can find come 1.22, maybe this time i`ll finally build that big stone bridge i wanted to make between those mountains (i`ve named them the twin watchers, i always end up making my base at the foot of them) ty for reading
  3. i normally avoid mods with ai covers, if they where to lazy to make them thumbnail then they where probably to lazy to make the mod themselves as well
  4. tried a run of a ironman world, soil instability on, big mistake, spawn, walk 5 steps, world decides the dirt below my feet shall now fall, fall about 90 blocks, die in less then 10 min, my shortest ironman run for sure
  5. a lot of these are rather nice suggestions, i think the right idea is to expand on what is rather then detract, of course some balance changes really need to be done, at least for the grass clothing or clothing in general, like you said perhaps and overhaul to how clothing handles the environment, like protection from wind and such, as somebody how lives in a rather cold country i often find my cloths are socking wet after a heavy snow storm and being out for a wile just has all the snow melt on you or as sweat builds up, so perhaps some cloths being better insulated for that weather then others, more so in a way that goes beyond just how cold you are and how cold the weather is, if that makes any sense. but yes i agree clothing needs balance and perhaps more to them to make them interesting, at least the clothing intended for survival situations, but that also brings to mind a change in the weather perhaps clothing for more extreme storms or some such. anyway good post op
  6. hello everyone, this is an idea that`s been bouncing around in my head for a wile, to start of with i`m rather new to using the forums activity so do forgive any small mistakes i make, there may also be some small gaps in my grammar, English is my second language and i struggle a bit with grammar in general. i do also apologize if this is something that's been talked about a lot before or already sorted i just found this an interesting topic to bring up. anyway onward to my main point, right now i feel classes lack more then just a foundation, most of the buffs or things that only they can make feel a bit lacking, wile they have some purpose and place it feels a bit underwhelming, of course i could be alone in thinking this, but things like the sling and blackguard sword feel more like flavor rather the something with overall use, personally id like to see what the classes can make expanded, for example for black guard fixing there armor cost them less or some such, more things tied to the world and what you can find in it. Now when it comes to buffs and debuffs that`s a more tricky one, wile i myself would like a added system that would act much like zomboids system i feel that may be more in the territory of mods, sadly i have very little in nature to suggest myself but still i feel outside of a few traits there is little to set the classes apart from one another, at least as i`ve played them, i haven't really had to change up how i play all that much. apologies of this has been a bit all over the place again using forums or this forum in general is rather new to me, but i do hope i at least made some sense, of course if this made no sense and is a dumb thing to suggest feel free to tell me so, regardless this is me dipping my toes in to wider suggestion and feedback, thank you if you gave my ideas tough to read trough and good day
  7. guess i`ll throw my opinion in the ring, on the forums themselves its mostly constructive with some outliers here and there, i find however the latest discussion to have soured even here a bit, on the discord its downright horrendous with how its been going but i feel that's nothing new, i don't know i`ve been mostly passive for a time now and recent discussion has made me want to retreat and just enjoy the game with minimal community interaction i`ve seen these patterns before and i`m not sure i want to stick around from when it becomes bad if ever, for its not so bad now, but i really fear whats to come as i really like this game and honestly have had some rather nice talks, and there is feedback or suggestions i want to give for the game but i feel i may hold of on that just because of how things have gone, my fear may be overreacting a bit but i`ve seen and been a part of so many communist i`ve liked that have turned less then friendly over time, and i really don`t want to see that happened to a game i love as much as this one. all in all i feel the forums are fine for now, but i fear what may come

  9. i think classes need more to separate them in general to be honest, the bonuses they get are nice but still lacks proper impact in my opinion. if they could make twine easier or with other resources as well that would be interesting, but i think that would need to come with an overhaul on how we do crafting of that sort in general, for now classes feel more like a prof of concept rather then something stable
