You may need to dig the rock as well; the treasure can be pretty deep down. Easiest way to find is probably go to the exact coordinates listed and use ladders to dig a shaft straight down until you find the treasure chest. 1

Parenn Posted August 3, 2025 Report Posted August 3, 2025 In my experience, just chilling with some planks under it and maybe something to one side (although that might be Better Ruins). Pretty sure vanilla is just a chest on some aged planks. 1

I dug deep in one of the Xs and i reached the mantle and nothing there i don't understand how it works. ... Later Edit: I dug another of the 3 Xs and i found a huge deposit of black coal and fire clay So i guess that was my treasure i can't find any chests or anything Edited October 15, 2025 by Teo Teutza
Maelstrom Posted October 15, 2025 Report Posted October 15, 2025 Welcome to the forums! Treasure maps purchased from the treasure hunter will ALWAYS result in a chest of some kind. Usually up to 10 blocks below the top block. The treasure is a single block and can be easy to miss. 1
Iziss Posted October 15, 2025 Report Posted October 15, 2025 Thank you Malestrom! So you're saying that under each of these 3 Xs ... there should be a chest? Is there a range to the Xs? Like ... not maybe directly below, but ... also 3-4 blocks around?

If you're having issues finding it though, you could try popping into spectator mode and taking a quick peek to make sure you didn't miss it by a couple of blocks. There should also be a chest under each marker. 1 1

But first @ifoz, i only have 3 basic mods added, nothing that messes with the vanilla generation. SO the red Xs were maps i bought from the other traders to find the treasure hunter, which would ultimately i guess, sell me the map to the Resonance Archives?
