How to start a dedicated Multiplayer server with world download/settings from VS payed hosting.

Hello, I wanna say this is one of the greatest survival experiences of the 21st century. Me and my friends have been playing on a VS payed server for the last 2 weeks, the service is amazing and I love that it is built in, However I am in the united states so at times latency can become an issue (dying due to animals attacking even though you are not actually interacting with the server due to ping.) So I was wondering exactly what the title says, I have gotten a world download from my current payed server and I am wondering how to create a new multiplayer server with the existing world. I followed the wiki page (Guide:Dedicated_Server) for server creation and I am able to join the server no issues but it seems every time I launch with the world download it is overwritten by a random generated world.
I am also concerned since the world size is limited with the built in hosting, Will my world settings also transferring the size limit? Also concerned about the server time, will i have to manually adjust it or is that something included within world download meta data? If i am overlooking anything that might cause problems please let me know!

Thank you.

Welcome to the forums, @kevinC!

Go back to the page you linked, skip down to "Customize World".  Did you fill in whatever your file save name was?

Thank you sir, so I believe I just need to add this line to my server shortcut, "SaveFileLocation": "./data/Saves/YourWorldNameHere.vcdbs"

I will try this when I arrive home and update you. But this seems promising thank you.

No, that's what goes in your serverconfig.json.

If you don't want to do any file editing, you simply rename your world to "default.vcdbs"

I'd recommend using the serverconfig.json method, though. It makes it so much easier to change your server options as you decide which parameters you like.

[EDIT]

Just open "serverconfig.json" in your favorite text editor, and find "SaveFileLocation". Edit, save, restart your server.

You my friend are a legend. Me and the boys can now enjoy the cave base from my local server. Thank you so much.
