I can't bear it anymore. How to keep agressive animals out?

This is the 3rd seed in a row that i have a bear spawn in my mud hut. This time, there's a bear AND a wolf (not pictured). Is this how it's supposed to work or am i just this unlucky? After i attacked it for a bit, it ran away. Is this enough? Will the bear come back?Capturadetelade2024-10-0509-32-40.thumb.png.7fc6d87e0cb87ed93bf1b95043b0739f.png

You need infrastructure. No mobs will spawn where there is good artificial lighting, and fences will reliably keep out animals including bears. They can vault a wall of solid blocks, but won't pass a fence.

Depending on how well-established/attached to that particular spot you are, you may also want to consider moving elsewhere if you don't want to deal with predators. Unless something has changed, they're tied to specific spawn points, which means that even if you kill them off, they'll eventually respawn. On the other hand, if you need a good source of meat, fat, hide, and bones, and are good at killing them...it could also be a prime spot to settle in. 😁

This mythbusting thread on Reddit claims this as false, though depending on the situation, the difference can be academical. There is no such thing as creature spawn points, but there are spawn restrictions based on environment. And if by random chance only a certain small patch in an area fulfills the spawn requirements for let's say wolves in regards to humidity, temperature, etc, then wolves will spawn there and only there, making it look like there is a fixed spawn point.

Ah, that would make sense.

Also a good tip to dealing with those pesk bears/wolves from my playthroughs, i call it the MURDER HIGHWAY!

- 1st PATHS - make some and make a 2 or 3 wide "highway" next to your house. It doesnt take much to do it just need dirt and whatever stones are in your area. On the path you can easily outrun every animal

- 2nd make a wall or use outside wall of your house and place couple of tool racks (only sticks needed for that)

- 3rd craft looooots of flint spears and put them on those toolracks

So now you probably see the strategy is pretty simple - i there are some wolves/bears spawning or wandering close to your humble abode - just pick all the spears and the you can use your "highway" to throw spears and run in and out quickly. I never had a bear or otherwise even touch me that way ;)

Hope this helps someone :)
