I made a new world in version 1.19.8 to try my luck with the Story dungeon and making steel. During my travels, I came across this interesting piece of the world...

The seed is -1801985865. It's just some oak plank floating above the water at 0, 0, 0. is it an artifact of generation, or is it some ruin that got weirdly cut?

Either way, thought it was neat and wanted to share.  :)

I heard that if your spawn is in water, 0,0 will have planks you can stand on, even if you do not spawn directly on top of them.

Yeah i think thats how the game works - im currently trying a water world challenge were i have:

Landcover: 10% Landcover Scale: 10% Upheaval Rate: 10% Landform Scale: 300%

and you most likely will spawn in the water - the game plonks some planks you can stand on right on you then

Dunno. The last couple starts that were under water, with default Wilderness settings, no mods, I was standing on muddy gravel. There were no planks that I could see on the surface, Not having coordinates, though, I'm not sure origin would have been in water, since the shorelines were pretty close.

Maybe salt water? Defaults have no oceans, to the best of my knowledge, and the times I've seen the wood slabs were about the time I was puttering with Landcover.
