The only time I use steel plate is when I'm heading someplace REALLY nasty, like a cave bottom below y=30 and nightmare drifters spawning almost as fast as I can kill them (blackguard with steel falx). Taking 3-4 hits from a swarm of nightmares has led to death using steel chain. Even using steel plate I had to retreat to heal a couple times before I could secure the area against such a high spawn rate. Just for fun, or is there a point to it? Genuinely curious. I've just never noticed that bells or locusts or saws were ever defending anything worthwhile. Just more random cave, exactly like the random cave next door which lacks all the nastiness. Maelstrom Posted October 31, 2024 Report Posted October 31, 2024 Never know what's around the next corner until you go around that next corner. Might find a bountiful deposit of ore, maybe a ruin. Maybe (or likely) a dead end.

Maelstrom Posted November 1, 2024 Report Posted November 1, 2024 Welll.. I suppose. It's the adventure of exploration. Did you know there's a nice little hidden treasure trove in the RA? Gotta go through the translocator to find, though.

Maelstrom Posted November 1, 2024 Report Posted November 1, 2024 (edited) The room itself wasn't in water at all. It was pretty small and cramped. I almost didn't see it coz of all the RNG placed blocks shielding it from view. But this getting quite off topic. Perhaps we should take this to another thread? Edited November 1, 2024 by Maelstrom
