LuisEdGm Posted November 25, 2024 Report Posted November 25, 2024 Some of my animals keep escaping their fenced areas when I am not looking, I had a male sheep teleport from one enclosed area to another where I keep my bees about 10 blocks away (enclosed to protect against racoons), I also had a turkey (More Animals Mod) get out of his fence once, I checked all the corners and there is nothing they could use to jump over the wood fences, also when I spook them by getting close they never manage to escape, is this a known issue? 1
ArgentLuna Posted November 26, 2024 Report Posted November 26, 2024 My Pigs are experts at this but the sheep don't seem to do it at all (they are in the same barn in similar pens)
Krosis Posted November 29, 2024 Report Posted November 29, 2024 I think the same happens to me but im not sure 100%, I will keep an eye on them. I keep my musk ox in diferent pens and i think some got mixed a couple times. It may have something to do with rendering and player distance?
Thorfinn Posted November 29, 2024 Report Posted November 29, 2024 Check to see if 2-high fences work. They can (or at least could) jump over a single-high fence if one was jumping while standing on the back of another. I have also seen a running jump onto a trough and over a single fence 2 away from the trough. And there are circumstances I have not bothered to track down where solid blocks above the fence apparently become climbable because they got onto my walkway.
Maelstrom Posted November 29, 2024 Report Posted November 29, 2024 as of 1.19 animals do not jump over one high fence, let alone 2 high. They can, glitch through fences though, although that is rare. Make sure there isn't a stone block/slab within a block of the fenced area as some animals (bighorn sheep) can climb using the rock.
