Vee Neil Posted December 4, 2024 Report Posted December 4, 2024 I love that there is alcohol brewing but it would be so nice to be able to collect different kinds of tea bushes and collect their leaves to use in different kinds of metal kettles which you could boil on either a fire pit or another suggestion being some kind of stove so that you aren't using a small fire pit to cook all your food even in the end game. 11
Krougal Posted December 5, 2024 Report Posted December 5, 2024 We found the Brit! Seriously though, I think it's a good idea too...more herbalism would be good, and teas with different effects fit well. 1

I love all the mechanics, but if the result doesn't DO anything, somehow most of the fun is lost.
Kosti Posted December 5, 2024 Report Posted December 5, 2024 We already have flowers which are mostly useless now, being able to dry them, as well as having tea leaves and a tea mechanic would be amazing, perhaps tea could have a special effect of keeping you warm during the winter? I would love to see that! 4

My girlfriend and I aren't far enough in the game to know if mead or wines do anything so I just mentioned the safer bet in case they didn't do anything. but yes if they had some kind of nice effect that would be nice. Once again I am not sure if this already exists but cane sugar or something or adding honey to it would also be quite quaint. And using clay forming to make a tea set of cups, argh i just want a little cottage core house so bad lol 1

It does provide fruit nutrition. We do have bees with honey, which seems like the right thing to add to herbal tea. I would totally make clay teacups.
LinkStorm Posted December 8, 2024 Report Posted December 8, 2024 What about having some flowers that could give some slow regeneration to the player when it's dried and made into a tea, or other flowers that could give some buffs like a slightly higher farming yield to either ores or plants that would be harder to make early game, maybe increased running or swing speed, or one that would have some slight resistance from losing "sanity". It would also only just give those effects, and you could only have one active at a time. Either way I would love to see more functionality of the existing flowers then just bees.
xXx_Ape_xXx Posted December 8, 2024 Report Posted December 8, 2024 I'd love to see tea bushes and tea making in the game! Give me a proper kettle to brew a cuppa

Oooooh yeah, teas providing buffs for more niche and unique things would be cool

If you distill it, you get stronger alcohol that keeps forever, which can also be distilled again to make aqua vitae. Aqua vitae makes the best bandages in the game, though they will dry out quickly. I believe 1.20 gave them a bit of a buff, in that you can now use a jug of aqua vitae to craft your bandages, making them a more viable option while adventuring. 3 hours ago, Vinegaroon said: Also Need Coffee. That is, it stops some of the wobbling around for a bit so you can see straight, without needing to adjust your settings. 1

I didn't know aqua vitae I made the comment. I read about it on the wiki since then. The new part here is the part about the bandages drying out. It doesn't seem very useful to have bandages that you can't just carry around until you need them. And I thought I read that wine provides the nutrition of fruit but not the satiation? Bees are the one big survival resource I haven't found yet. I've been preserving berries in pies, which when stored in a cellar gives me a good 3 months at warm-weather spoilage and close to 6 months at cold-weather rate. So I'd guess the average is a bit more than 4. I made enough pies that I'm having trouble eating them fast enough, but I'm staying fed and keeping my fruit bar up just fine Edited December 20, 2024 by Echo Weaver
Zadlo14 Posted January 10, 2025 Report Posted January 10, 2025 I'd add cocoa too to make chocolate and cocoa brandy. 2
