Julian Schmid Posted December 7, 2024 Report Posted December 7, 2024 (edited) I haven't played in a while. Since 1.8 I think. Or 1.7. I just tried making some shears and the recipe seems different. More importantly it now looks like it takes 2 Ingots instead of 1, which seems rather expensive. There technically are enough metal "pixels" to do the whole blueprint, but I can't push the pixels on the lowest plane, so I can't get the last five or so pixels of the blueprint. Am I forgetting something about the smithing mechanics? Edit: I don't quite yet get why I could push the bottom layer pixels in one direction unto the 2nd layer, but not a different direction, but I managed to make it work now. Guess I was just rusty. Thorfinn Posted December 7, 2024 Report Posted December 7, 2024 Happens. Heck, the way pushing voxels works may well have changed. Are you the one who made videos of some of the mechanics way back? Julian something, I just don't recall.

It still only takes one ingot. The shape did change though, so it will take more hammering and a little more care to actually forge the shears. 1

Went surprised first time, because the extended hammering time made remaining ingot in the forge to cool down too much to be worked on.
