CastIronFabric Posted February 12, 2025 Report Posted February 12, 2025 1. Is it realistically possible to create a canal between two large bodies of water if the distances is lets say 20 blocks long? 2. What happens if a body of fresh water joins to a body of seawater?

I don't see a reason this wouldn't work, at least at this particular stage of the game's development. It will require quite a lot of work though. 1 hour ago, CastIronFabric said: 2. What happens if a body of fresh water joins to a body of seawater? Not sure. I would presume that the water blocks will simply spread to whichever blocks they can under normal means, without mixing, until you place water source blocks with a bucket.
Thorfinn Posted February 12, 2025 Report Posted February 12, 2025 (edited) Sure, why not if you are playing with source blocks turned on. If playing Standard, default settings, no problem. You just have to use a bucket to fill the tiles you dug out. 1 hour ago, CastIronFabric said: What happens if a body of fresh water joins to a body of seawater? Just like what happens in real life. V1ncent Posted April 29, 2025 Report Posted April 29, 2025 By my recent experience with the boat, it is too susceptible to the water flow that the boat can hardly move against the flow direction. If I am not missing anything, the difficult part of the canal would be to place water source block wisely to maintain no water flow against your boat's movement.
