Aim mechanics are not my friend

I'm a new player and I enjoy most of the mechanics...except for throwing spears. I usually carry around a bunch of them in case I miss my first shot, which is often.

But THIS was RIDICULOUS

 

 

I don't know how I keep missing T-T

I ended up knapping a new one and finally hit the stupid deer ONCE. then I had to collect all my spears and continue the chase. There's gotta be a better way to do this.

I'm sure you know to make the targetting square as small as possible, but after that you should take gravity into account as well and aim higher than your target.

When I was just starting out, I would typically not hunt wolves without 12 spears and 4 spearheads ready for shafts. Now that's a whole lot of missing. And I had no real excuse. No armor to mess things up, and I was Commoner, so no penalties. I was just that lousy.

Another tip, you can sneak up the animal without alerting it. Sadly, sneaking is only possible on flat land.
