SlothQueen43 Posted May 15, 2025 Report Posted May 15, 2025 It would be fun to expand cooking. Something to look forward to as you expand into the bronze age and what not. Increased fermentation possibilities, Being able to make ginger soda through fermentation. Making dipping sauces like ketchup and mayo. Cutting bread, cheese, and veggies into slices with a knife to make sandwiches Increased cooking tools. Like a skillet, cupcake tins, and cake pans. It's aesthetic but would be a marker of your success. To have extra ore for those cooking tools. Those additions would also encourage people to develop their farms better and explore for things like sugar cane and ginger. 4
LadyWYT Posted May 16, 2025 Report Posted May 16, 2025 Welcome to the forums! This is something I'd like to see as well, and I daresay it will be expanded upon in some future update. For now though it's not a big priority, as we already have a decent variety of things to eat and there are other gameplay loops that need to be fleshed out more(like late-game tech and aquatics). Until then, there's always this mod: https://mods.vintagestory.at/expandedfoods 1
Maelstrom Posted May 16, 2025 Report Posted May 16, 2025 I'm not much of a cook and I'm fine with the basics the vanilla game gives me. I've seen what expanded foods mod does and to me it is... daunting. I appreciate the extraordinary work put into that mod so players like you get what you want, but I'd not like it if the base game become dramatically more complex than it is currently. It's getting harder for this old dog to learn new tricks. 1
Thorfinn Posted May 16, 2025 Report Posted May 16, 2025 Also search for sandwich on ModDB. There at least two that I know of.
