Sometimes, you truly get tired of doing something. So I went and made as much mortar as would fit in a barrel. Turns out it's 512. Have a picture:

I am very proud of my huge pile of mortar. Did it take all day babysitting the fire? yes. Did it use more fuel than I want to admit? also yes. Will I need to make more in the future? also yes!

What other crazy things have you done in the game to hopefully save yourself some time in the future?

I recall making an equally unreasonable amount of mortar for a castle once. Never got around to using it all, I quit that world after iron.

I made over 10 litters of peanut butter from the expanded foods mod. i think it took me 3 real hours and i dont know what im going to do with all of that.

I have probably gone through close to 600 mortar in a game I play with 3 friends, and I have yet to get into my really big projects lol. I do love my andesite ashlar blocks.

Annnnnnd my friend broke the stack of Mortar in half and placed half of it in a chest somewhere... time to make more I guess.

Too bad I can't borrow some. Hunted an elephant on my friend's server and now there's around 4-5 whole stacks of redmeat needing to be used. I might play a Blackguard and eat a lot, but even I can't eat that much!

The game didn't used to tell you how many items a recipe would output, so if you tried to make enough mortar for a cementation furnace you would do this by accident. The bad part is that there's no way to take just a little of it out...

there is actually ... just put the whole stack in your crafting grid and let the crafting process take as much as it needs/wants. or right-click with the stack to deposit single items at a time. Did the game not used to function this way?

I did it again but this time with firewood... this was ONE haul after stocking the charcoal pit for another round

Not sure if this is even one year worth of cooking, especially for lady blackguard

In my current world I have 9 stacks of firewood, but I live on two veins of black coal.

Safe to say I’m saving it for winter.

Speaking of huge piles of stuff, I think when ill be able to play again (maybe before the 1.21 release so i could test in my actual 1.20 base) i'll test the 11x11x11 charcoal pit, to never need to make charcoal again after that

I too have done another thing. 2 crates full of quarts and over 60 silver ingot worth of silver bits, and im hesitant to say that im even half way thought that vein.
