GLaDOS_cz Posted October 22, 2025 Report Posted October 22, 2025 Heyo, I wonder if there can be multiple iron veins in one area where I get decent chances or it is always one giant vein per green dots zone so I know if im supposed to keep digging to find another one or move along.

Given that the iron ore you seem to be digging for is magnetite, there's a decent chance it's not there at all, as that's a trickier one to find consistently. Hematite tends to be easier to find. In any case, if you've dug some deep shafts around the prime spots, and found nothing, I would pick a different area and try again. Decent or higher readings are better sites to dig, but it doesn't hurt to try Poor or Very Poor readings either, as the density reading is only an indication of what could have spawned, and not what actually did.

I have found a big chunk of magnetite, but I wonder if there is always just one vein, or more.

It should just be one vein. To my knowledge, iron veins are somewhat of an exception to typical ore spawn rules due to their size.

Back in 1.16 cleaned out an iron deposit, did some prospecting around the edges to make sure I had gotten the strays and got a medium result on node search. MEDIUM?! Seriously?!! Maelstrom Posted October 22, 2025 Report Posted October 22, 2025 Hematite. Magnetite is unlikely to spawn like that because of the restrictive list of host rock magnetite can spawn in.
