Breeding time does not scale?

Greetings, straight to the point.

The wiki states "Length of gestation, maturation, and mating cooldown periods will scale accordingly if this setting is altered."

First point, it does not state which setting.... I assume its "dayspermonth" but its not working.

I tested it with pigs and its always 25 days gestation.

Maybe anyone here can enlighten me and tell me what im doing wrong or need to do to fix this. Or the wiki entry is false and gestation does not scale with month length.

Best regards

Wiki isn't accurate (mostly outdated) in quite a few things, this being one of them.   I believe gestation period is hardcoded at this time.   Same with berries.

Hopefully, Tyron will update that.   Soon.   ish.  :P

I hope not, feeding my sheep for no reason rn then, I would want feeding to gain weight, gestate faster/prevent miscarriage, and produce more milk. With a more in-depth system feeding well could prevent them from getting sick, produce healthier offspring, produce more wool (if that gets added).

You just listed a bunch of mechanics not currently in the game.   Currently, feeding is good for two things only - breeding and fattening for slaughter.   Animals do not have health beyond HP and pregnancy always results in birth (unless the mother is killed prior to birthing).

Just going to point out that it's realistic to feed animals more in order for them to gain weight or have better milk yields(to an extent), as well as prevent miscarriage from malnutrition. But feeding them more doesn't speed up gestation--it takes time for the baby to develop.

That wouldd mean someeone wrote this inaccurate statement into the wiki and newbies who dont know better believe this. What a shame.

I just hoped i missed something here :D Since crops do scale with days per month and use a similiar config like animals.

For crops its totalGrowthMonths and for animals its pregnancyDays.

But yeah maybe some day those things scale with the days per month properly.

Anyway thanks for your response :) Wish all a nice day

It means that it was accurate when it was written but hasn't been updated when the game changed.

The handbook is the best source of information.
