Joel Goodwin Posted December 5, 2025 Report Posted December 5, 2025 I'm not sure if it's just me, or if this is mod related, but every time I break a firepit because I no longer want it in that area, I seem to get a ring of light that stains the ground permanently. Even after I removed every placed block in the area, the ring of light will remain. If anyone has seen this, 1: does anyone know what causes it if it's a mod doing it? 2: Am I able to get rid of that stain on my current world somehow?
Vexxvididu Posted December 6, 2025 Report Posted December 6, 2025 Very likely mod related. Never heard of this bug before. What mods are you using? If you're using a lot, you probably want to experiment with disabling half of them at a time to narrow down.
Joel Goodwin Posted December 6, 2025 Author Report Posted December 6, 2025 My current fire or light in general related mods are as follows : A Wearable Light : Better Firepit (likely contender if you ask me, but I like it enough that even if that was the issue, I would still use it) : Flickering Lights : Immersive Lanterns That being said, all of these individually are very popular mods that if a certain mod alone had this problem, someone else would be having it. Trying to remove mods may not even fix the problem. the area could just have it burned into the textures. Maybe if I test it on new worlds and just rush firepit quickly and place one in a cave where it's dark already.
LadyWYT Posted December 6, 2025 Report Posted December 6, 2025 You might try /debug chunk relight to see if that clears it up. At least, I think that's the right command. It won't stop the issue from occurring, necessarily, but it should recalculate the chunk lighting and remove the uh...ghost lights, so to speak. 1

For now, that does indeed work to fix the particular light stain and I'll call that my solution for now. I'll have to see if I can find out "why" it does that though. I'm gonna try breaking another fire and see if it does it again. I have noticed it definitely more than once though in the past.
