Veronica Hohenheim Posted January 15 Report Posted January 15 I have a pc that is on the low end,frequently heard its a e waste by western u tubers (it has a 9th gen i5,8gb ram,gtx1050mobile3gb).I am not going to upgrade it in any recent future its just my machine.Now is it normal to have multiple minutes of loading for a save ? Is it something u experience or is it just my old pc ? I know mods can effect it,or I think but even when I was playying vanilla it was tooking time.Its been some time since last time I played it so it took me off guard to wait so long.Version should be 1.21.0 stable.
ArgentLuna Posted January 15 Report Posted January 15 Till the start of 25 i played on a 10 year old PC with a 8 year old GPU just fine, i cant say really i ever noticed the loading times being too long, i also was connecting to a server in the EU from Australia so that skews load times some what.
Vexxvididu Posted January 15 Report Posted January 15 My PC is a lot stronger than yours but it still takes like at least a full minute to load up a save. So I think that's normal. I have only 3 light weight mods, so I think that's just expected. 1
pigfood Posted January 16 Report Posted January 16 My high-end system can start the game and load a save in 25 seconds. Your CPU isn't too bad, if your laptop has decent cooling and doesn't thermally throttle. Your 8GB RAM is very little and may be the reason for your bad performance. Performance absolutely tanks, when there isn't enough RAM and the system starts using swap. 1

It took me almost exactly 30 seconds to start up my game. So if it takes a few minutes that's a bit slow.
LadyWYT Posted January 16 Report Posted January 16 I think when the world is first generated, or otherwise first loaded in a new game version, the loading will be a bit longer than average since the world is actively being generated and whatnot. Otherwise, the average load time for a vanilla game shouldn't take all that long. Mods will definitely affect load times, especially mods that add lots of items or alter world generation. Large modlists will slow things down as well. I think the average vanilla load time for me is around 10 seconds, but the modded load times can easily be a minute or two, depending on what mods I picked. 2 hours ago, pigfood said: Your 8GB RAM is very little and may be the reason for your bad performance.
