The displayed fuel time remaining will drop down to zero or very close to zero, and the visible fuel level and the workpiece will start bouncing around wildly. Sometimes it won't show the fuel at all, but a pump on the bellows will make the fuel reappear. I also have been experiencing this bug. It's been really funny to see my friends get confused as the fuel and work pieces bounce up into the air while I go "eh, it does that" and continue smithing away.

I've seen it too and it took me a hot minute to figure out why on earth my forge was glitching out, lol. Difficult to ignore since movement like that in my peripheral vision catches my attention very easily. 1
quicksilvr Posted April 6 Report Posted April 6 the piles of coal doing the hot potato on the forge is funny. At first I thought I just lost a full load of Anthracite until I hit the bellows and suddenly I had fuel again. Still getting the weird glitches where your buckets randomly disappear when transferring liquids. Seems to happen more when I have 2 or more buckets in my inventory and with wines / milk. The buckets and the 40% speed debuff from shoveling snow or using that snow shovel or whatever are the only issues I have with the current RC's. Everything else has been stellar with the water wheels, new winter clothing, quenching / tempering / the 3 bellows types / fuel types for the forge, needing fertilizers for crops / berries, the fat changes and oil lamps. Personally I like the coal changes with the forge the most. I have a real incentive to use Black coal now for something besides making ore bombs and coke due to how long it lasts, and brown coal is also perfect if you are just tempering / quenching finished iron or steel tools with how it maxes base temp at 650C before you hit the bellows. I still have to learn how to use spur gears properly. 2
Calmest_of_lakes Posted April 7 Report Posted April 7 (edited) ive been playing more, and I think the forge bug actually does consume more fuel than it should (it isnt just visual.) can anyone else confirm? Edited April 7 by Calmest_of_lakes

The most I've noticed is that the fuel consumption will speed up when the bellows are in use, which is to be expected. The fuel will also glitch out both on the visuals and the numerical readout. By that I mean it seems to only count one hour at a time.
EnbyKaiju Posted April 8 Report Posted April 8 Keeping my paws crossed real tight that we see that stable drop soon. Everything is looking so good, and from looking at most of the bug reports they feel like non-gamebreaking ones that can be hotfixed out as they go. That long-term world is looking real tempting right now, but I trust the devs in their process. It's worked great so far. Good luck, VS devs! We know you're doing a great job 2
Emma Malha Posted April 8 Report Posted April 8 Posting to get more eyes on this issue: all types of stinkbait appear to be bugged, I've tested all of them in ocean and ponds, and have caught nothing, while worms act normally in the same locations. 4

Going to say something similar. Basic bushmeat and redmeat have me catching sturgeon in 15 seconds or less while stinkbait hasn't caught a thing in over a minute. I'm going to assume they have some issues with all types of stinkbait at the moment too. 1
Emma Malha Posted April 9 Report Posted April 9 You can bait with the basic meats??? This changes things, I thought the only baits were stinkbait and worms.
Lielac Posted April 9 Report Posted April 9 @Emma Malha @quicksilvr Known issue, going to get fixed in the next release https://github.com/anegostudios/VintageStory-Issues/issues/8912 3 1
cjameshuff Posted April 11 Report Posted April 11 Had a variety of oddities with the forge while working some blister steel with a helve hammer and turning two ingots into a pickaxe and axe. The usual fuel level oddities manifested, but didn't do anything obvious beyond cause display issues. One ingot got too cold to finish processing, so I kept it in my hotbar while pausing blister steel processing to temper the clay-covered axe and pickaxe. The pickaxe went fine, but after doing the axe, I somehow ended up with two tempered axe heads and no partially-processed blister steel ingot. When I tried to move it, the second axe head disappeared, leaving me with neither the ingot nor an axe head. I finished up the blister steel and stored it, giving myself a steel ingot to replace the one that was lost, then visited a nearby trader where I sold a backpack...and now I have a fully unprocessed blister steel ingot in my inventory. I put it in the chest and it hasn't vanished...yet. And I've had three milkings with increasingly spoiled milk from my 3 sheep. The first I only noticed was spoiled after adding it to a barrel, the next came out at 65% spoiled, the last at 90+%. The latest milking, I checked the first bucket, and it was fresh. I milked the next one, and the full bucket and one empty bucket disappeared. In the end, milking three sheep cost me two buckets and gave me one bucket of milk (which is fresh now).

This is a bug and it's still in as of rc8. I haven't tested it thoroughly but it seems to be connected to the produce; when you for example process certain materials into another with larger quantities and move it out of machine's inventory slot into your inventory, it will often disappear - but - it doesn't really disappear either. When I placed it directly in the grid as a crafting material, it was gone but once I reloaded the game, it appeared back, stuck in the same grid slots I left it at. I think there's more to it than just that; no idea if anyone else bugtracked it yet but since it's in rc8, its been either not dealt with yet or its unknown. Edited April 15 by Narcosis
