Luke_ksmith Posted May 17 Report Posted May 17 For how good everything looks in this game I feel like the two most common plants in the game, trees and bushes, look hideous. Bushes are just tree leaves and they make it near impossible to see anything when traversing a forest *and* they’re an eyesore, with stuff like the eagle ferns it’s clear it’s viable to texture a good looking bush. (And if you really want something that blinds you when traversing it for that tension aspect you could add tall grass). As for trees i feel like so many other blocks have angles and non cubic textures that there’s really no reason to have these Minecrafty trees anymore. And it would be really cool if axes actually took chunks out of the base when you cut them rather than just cracking like stone, and if the trees had a falling animation when felling them before turning into blocks 4
Heegrim Posted May 27 Report Posted May 27 Yeah, I assume trees are on the agenda to be reworked since they have basically been unchanged since the first release of the game. Another thing is the leaves not dropping from deciduous trees in winter. You should check out the mod Eco Machina. The absolute mad lad has been working hard on a tree/ecosystem overhaul. 1

I hope the devs see this and add it to the game as soon as possible, it makes trees look like the tree on the icon. It's the most beautiful implementation of realistic trees I can imagine. Very very vintage story. 1
