  1. I think the other block game style of building is nice for the most part (very accessible, easy to use etc) but for roofs, and some wall building materials I think a framing mechanic would be very nice. For roofs I think it would be nice to be able to use a support beam like mechanism to make a roof frame whatever shape you want (right now it’s basically impossible to make more complex shapes like gambrels without extensive chiseling) and then add whatever roofing material on after; nailing on shingles, thatching, etc. as well as being able to remove said material and replace it without tearing the whole roof off.(could be a good way to add a new tool in the form of a slate ripper for removing shingles) for walls it would be nice to use the same mechanism to make timber frame structures, and then infill them with either wattle and daub or brick nogging. As of right now if you want a traditional timber frame look you have to build the whole building with wattle and daub, clay, brick, etc then go in after and painstakingly add all the support beams onto the outside of the structure, and it would be nice if the beams were actually part of the structure. could add siding options in the form of thinner vertical halfslabs to put over full blocks like clapboards/shakes. (in the same vein a way to stucco masonry in the same way wattle and daub works would also be really nice) Obviously the support beams as they are now wouldn’t work because they are super janky but with some reworking I think it would fit in the game very well and allow for a lot more realism/customization which is always appreciated with this game. for masonry (brick/stone) I think the current system of making whole blocks and placing them works fine. As individually laying each stone or brick would be very tedious, but I think infilling framing for walls and roofs would actually be much less tedious than the current system and allow for a lot more versatility.
  2. When dogs are implemented I am begging you to please PLEASE make them pet-able and make it so you can play with them, so many games include dogs that you can’t pet or play with and it’s heartbreaking.
  3. These could be 3 tiers of food preservation making meat a more viable food source to travel with and store. Jerky could provide the least satiation but be the cheapest to make, just use a knife on some meat and get shredded meat, then leave it on a screen or a rack of some kind in the sun( an oven could be used later on perhaps). If you want a slightly better but more expensive food source you could make pemmican, start by making jerky but then mixing it with animal fat and or berries to get pemmican which can last even longer and gives more satiation. Finally smokehouses, smoked meat and fish could give the most satiation but maybe not last as long. You could balance them a lot and make them accessible pretty early or make them really good and lock them behind a technology tier like refractory bricks.
  4. Would be cool if you could hook copper pipes up to a geothermal vent and run them through your base to heat it
  5. We have wool, we have wool clothing, we have the ability to make clothing, but we don’t have the ability to get wool or make wool clothing. We only have bighorn rams which aren’t really wooly but we have multiple species of goats which are and we have shears, I think the ability to shear them should be added.
  6. Everyone is telling you bighorn sheep aren’t wooly, but goats are you could totally shear goats to get the wool.
  7. Maybe a bit silly but it would be fun if you could cage a canary and use it as a warning system for danger in caves.
  8. I think there should be beasts of burden such as horses, oxen, mules, reindeer, etc, etc who can do things like pull plows and grind flour. Some of these should also be rideable such as the horses and reindeer. as for pets I think wolves should be able to be domesticated into dogs. And domesticated foxes could act sort of like cats, patrolling your base and stopping pests from getting into your crops and stuff.
  9. Right now we only have rafts, I think the next boats we should be able to make should be wood canoes which function the same as rafts but faster/better and animal skin Inuit style kayaks which could be faster than canoes at the cost of being more expensive and/or less sturdy. Both of these could be made pre copper age and then once you have metallurgy you could add something like a rowboat made of planks and nails. Eventually I’d love large European and Asian style sailing vessels but for now I think the first sailable vessel should be a Polynesian style outrigger, it would be small and not nearly as hard to implement. A bit of stretch but I think a Viking longship style boat would also be a bit easier to implement than say a caraval or a galley.
