Timbersheild
Not to sound like a pyro but adding the ability to light things on fire with a torch or firestarter would add to the open aspect of the game.
redram
You can already do that, just crouch and right click with the torch, same way you light a bloomery or anything else with a torch. It only works on combustible blocks of course. And it's not always obvious what's going on, since VS uses a particle system to represent fire, rather than a more obvious flame sprite.
Hal13
yeah ladders near lava definitely can spontanously combust and it's hard to see... haven't really tried setting the forest on fire though... Wait... can fire-pits ignite adjacent objects? My little wood-pile is right by my fire and there aren't many trees hereabouts!
Hal13
the fire pit can't (if it's not on top of the firewood), but you could accidentially point at that wood when you light the fire pit and ignite it yourself.
