Exscorbizorb
Are things supposed to keep cooking, despite the fire being below their cooking temperature?
redram
I think it depends on the temperature of the crucible, not the firepit itself. However once the firepit is colder, the crucible should also begin to get colder. I forget what the cook temperature of crucibles is though, but if it's 600 then since in that picture the crucible is at 613, then yes, that is working as intended. This is the problem. The fire in the picture is far colder than the crucible, but the crucible held a steady 613 degrees. Once an item on the fire reaches a certain temperature it doesn't drop. I only have to worry about getting an item to a temperature, then I can just walk away. It will finish on its own regardless.
Tyron
This is intentional behavior. A hot item will take 1-2 minutes before it starts cooling down.
Exscorbizorb
Okay. Very interesting (and useful).
