Rerollist
Hello guys, Been hearing of the games for some years now and decided to give it a try and buy it. Games is great so far, really immersive, but... why with a i7 16GB RAM and a RTX2060 do i have to play in medium graphics config to barely have 30 fps ??
Streetwind
Try changing the Vsync settings. Sometimes one of the settings might cause the game to sync down to 30 or below. One of the other settings should let your hardware off the leash.
Rerollist
Thx for the reply, but already tried to change nearly all settings with no luck. Playing on arch with AUR package.
Hal13
Maybe you have quite some bloat in the background? Never had the same issue with the worse setup of an i5-3570 16GB RAM and an RX580... Else try looking into the GPU settings if it maybe tries to use some of its features, like ray tracing, even in games not made for it (and the tooltip for VSYNC ingame says something about NVIDIA cards not always accepting ingame settings for it and overwriting it with their own setting)... From the little info I have that's all I can think of...
Rerollist
Yeah, i guess i'll investigate later this week and try the manual installation instead of the AUR package. Edit: Ok found the issue, had to install optimus-manager and manually switch to nvidia with "optimus-manager --switch nvidia", nvidia card was install but not totally working (it was ok to use HDMI and displayport external monitors but not really active for gaming). Now i'm 65fps in Glorious mode and 30fps in Absolute Maximum. Oh and manually install mono seems to help too Edited June 22, 2022 by Rerollist 1

Garjouan
I think in general, VS needs some optimization in this part, as I should be able to run it on the highest settings as well (I think), and yet had to turn down a lot of features to have it run smoothly. Still looks good, though

And as for the GPU, i usually only use the nvidia gpu as my laptop is never on battery, but its the first time that i have to manually switch to the dedicated GPU after the drivers installation. Anyway it's all good for me now.
