It is completely possible to eat that, for the record One time on a dare, a friend made me one (1) serving of red meat, turnip, and death cap stew. Dared me to eat it without the use of healing items. And so, through the power of nibbling away on it whenever my hunger was slightly just below the full line, I was able to consume the whole bowl without dying, in three ingame days (and lots of sleeping/eating real food).

I wish you could I'm the same as you, there are SO many books (and scrolls!) and I wanted to fill my library with them all. I had to make 2 trips just for the books You can store them in those two clay vessels at the bottom entrance to the library so you don't risk losing them, and then come back on your own time to collect. . .. you COULD make your own books and just manually fill them from your journal, should you wish to take the time and do that

Gold and Silver only spawn in quartz chunks. The silver would look similar, just with a more gray/whitish texture instead of the gold/white.

You can put one three blocks above the ground and get a running jump on it as well. Tricky at first, but if you're like me, you'll do anything to save a ladder

That can be normal; I've experienced that since I've started playing this game "Uncommon" just means there's not as much rain there as other areas. Usually they'll be dry, but I have seen it rain for a whole 9-day month in an uncommon area a few times. It just comes and goes.

It's because you have strayed too far from natural light Putting in one window will fix this This one is a bit more tricky; a cellar can't have a window. Assuming your cellar entrance is underground, and you have a solid wood door for it's entrance, you could put a skylight right above the cellar door. It will knock the cellar's cool temp down a notch or two, but it should remove the cave ambiance (and also the in-game music won't be cut out as well. A pet peeve but great immersive feature to me).

I always have my glider for adventuring. Makes it easier to travel down, no matter the height. Especially useful in jumping large gaps and running away from creatures. And while I do not get many flights longer than one or two seconds, there's still a noticeable travel change with one. I get why some people find it novel, but I think, even in it's current state, it's a must-have. Give my my wings please

Water wheels are in the roadmap Something which I'm also excited to get

I second this ^ While you CAN stack crates, it requires having a block to place a crate onto; for most crate stacking setups, this is fine as you usually have an already-existing wall you're placing them against But sometimes you just wanna place 4 crates in a field, and visually the look better stacked.

While it's great for the non-chiselers to have all sorts of different block shapes (Chiseling is not for everyone), I personally would rather have a full block as well to work with.

My thought would be that, as long as there are two fuel items in a pit, they would both burn at 1/2 their normal speed, at the same time, but still give off their same heat output (higher one wins out). I personally don't see a need for two different fuel sources in the same pit, asides from the "It would be more realistic" angle, but nevertheless that would be a fun mod to tinker with That would be a more fun way to dispose of trash Currently I toss mine in a pit kiln, or just down a hole. However, making a pile of burnable trash to dispose of, bonfire style. ..

Could someone assist me with optimizing the game for my PC?
Never Jhonsen replied to SilentResident's topic in Discussion
Someone asked about a similar issue on this thread, and there were a lot of good info posted in it. I would recommend looking here first -
You can make jam! With a little honey and fruit you can make jam . .. You and me both, Forum User Wicked Bear #18. We have Bread, Jam, AND knives, and yet (as I've whined before) our seraph just isn't clever enough to combine all three

REQUEST: Vintage hand push lawn-mower mod
Never Jhonsen replied to Kreeate's topic in [Legacy] Mods & Mod Development
If you press the tool option key while holding the scythe ( I think that's F for a standard setup), you'll have the option for the scythe to remove all grass, rather than just trim. With that being said, a rolling cutter would be a LOT faster than a scythe swinging about -
As a hoarder, I am ALWAYS looking for more storage options. And "Storage Drawers" is a wonderful mod; I'm always making the 4-drawer 1/2 block modules You are so correct on this, let me introduce you to the power of Support Beams A few slabs on top, and an assortment of support beams on the corners, and they look a lot more grounded in place. Now, it still is odd to have trunks that open into the trunk above it, but at least they don't look out of place. And, the fun doesn't stop there I stole this idea from a very important figure in Chapter 2 of this game. It's SUCH a massive visual improvement, and I wish I thought of it eariler

They're a nuisance to collect in the early game, but once you make a pair of shears? Well by the end of the year you'll have a crate full of sticks. Stick hunting in the early game really does suck, I'm with you there But just hang in there, it gets easier

I don't think the firepit operates on game time, but the cementation furnace seems to. I could be wrong though. It takes about a week to fire one, and I tend to sleep through most of the nights in game, and never noticed it delaying the completion time. I think they use game time as well, for similar reasons above. It's another case where I've never done exact math on it, but I've never noticed slower growth times due to sleeping. I can second this, everything but the firepit uses game time

I am all down for that actually. 8 flint taking roughly twice as long to reach temps as 4 flint in a firepit. I think that’s a much better idea than what the mod Better Firepits does, which simply keeps the temperature from resetting. If someone mods it then I will gladly download it I think that is a good proposition. Chickens love insects, and since we now have them running all over the place as of 1.20.0, that would be a good combination. Like you’ve mentioned in the past, I don’t see how it would be too different from a regular scroll or piece of written paper; Maybe give the schematics/lore maps the same code that a scroll has in terms of using them?
-
It's been the same audio since 1.13 when I started playing, and I wanna say they used to match? It's been so long since those new animations came out that I can't remember.
-
Which is why Vintage Story has better combat than Minecraft. You spam the mouse button and everything is dead. I think Vintage Story's combat system should stay how it is. Besides, there are more important things that need attention, like fire pit temperatures resetting, enabling chickens to be the omnivores they are, or even allowing map locations and schematics to be stored on a scroll rack

What Biome Specific Gameplay would you like to see?
Never Jhonsen replied to Josiah Gibbonson's topic in Discussion
I was a BIG player of the 404 challenge from that other block game. Would love to find a suitable seed to run it on Vintage Story; Especially with how much harder it would be in this game I've started a world like this on the 1.20 update, with a 10%/400% world setting, and I'd say it's very playable for those who like a challenge. I've been waiting for this feature since I started. Me personally, I can easily handle temps below 0C, but anything over 22C is hot, and I've even passed out before at 41C, so it's always felt weird to me that this game only has a cold limit. I've seen temps in the game get above 50C, and there's no way that ANYONE would be casually existing about in that heat. -
However, I will say that you make a great point, a watering can should be fillable from a barrel. And same with using a bucket on a watering can. I assume a watering can holds 10 liters of water, so in theory using a bucket on a watering can, or a watering can on a barrel, should be able to fill it. That would be a fun thing to suggest
-
The only way to fill your watering can is from a fresh water source, such as a pond or lake. I personally haven't tried it on saltwater and boiling water, but I assume that those will not work.
-
This is something I do all the time You’ll need to chisel a basin out by over 50% block volume. Once you do that, you should be able to CTRL-CLICK a bucket of water inside it. Do note, you will see the water z-fighting on the side. Me personally, I’ll clean out a block to be 2 voxels wide on the bottom, back, and both sides, leaving the top and front off. I would then put a second block down as the front, and chisel it to only be 2 voxels wide. When I say two voxels, I mean with the 2x2 voxel tool mode on the chisel. If you need me to, then when I get home (at work right now) I can show you my own in-game personal kitchen sink, and I’ll tear it down so you can see what I’m explaining.

Make water fill air blocks under itself PLEASE, I BEG YOU
Never Jhonsen replied to NastyFlytrap's topic in Suggestions
All non-full blocks are water-loggable, this was a . .. either 1.14 or 1.15 change, I can't remember. I see no reason to undo that change, nor give the shelf an exception to that rule. I remember way back in 1.13, still learning how to play this game, trying to fill a watering can and deleting a block of water by accidentally placing it. That lake was 5 blocks from my front door, and I spent a long while getting bothered by that 1x1 flowing water before I could finally make a bucket to fix it. I am so glad that this can't happen anymore; you place a non-solid block into the water, and it just becomes water-logged
