  1. 1.20.9, mobs still spawning during the day. Went down to my bee farm at noon and found myself inundated with shivers, bowtorns and drifters.
  2. Thank you both, I'll get to work on that.
  3. Pretty sure one of the tapestries shows something entering a seraph body which looks rather soul-like. Considering the whole mess with the Prime Materia that seemed to cause some sort of apocalypse involving an unstoppable, spreading tide of "rot" to cover the world I suspect it was either an attempt to get humanity to live on in a body better suited for a rot-y world, or an attempt to make something that could help them survive. Or by that point they'd given up and just wanted *something* to survive into the future that was intelligent, even if it wasn't humanity.
  4. I did have one weird incident in one of my worlds where a small, inescapable, dead-end cave seemed to constantly respawn wolves. Or they're able to breed and I wasn't aware. Regardless, there was a pit containing some 8-ish adult wolves and a swarm of pups, and no matter how many I killed whenever I went back a day later there'd be a small pack of them back in there.
  5. I'm wanting to do a bit of work on the game's TV Tropes page, it's lacking an image and everything I could find was either super low quality or way too big for the site. https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/VideoGame/VintageStory As an example of the image size I'm after: https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/VideoGame/Metro2033
  6. I've noticed that water source blocks can have water flowing into them if you place a block in water and destroy it. It's given me an idea: Rivers that steadily get shallower before dropping down a bit is kind of unrealistic, the amount of water flowing down a river stays mostly static so long as more isn't flowing into it, and rivers that are completely still are even less realistic, so perhaps a solution when/if there's a worldgen pass that adds them is to use this bug or something similar to create flow in a river that maintains its depth, or perhaps make rivers a mix of rapids like this and "still" areas to simulate slower, wider parts. It could make certain rivers better for navigating by boat than others because you won't have to fight water flows or risk having your boat go too fast and become out of your control.
  7. Personally I'm a fan of Wardruna's music. The "primitive" style very much suits the game. On the other hand, when Wunjo comes on and starts off with some creepy sounding children singing it can be a bit unnerving. Especially when you're already nervous because you're underground.
  8. Downloaded the mod quick installer just now and ran it, but the game's telling me that I'm lacking the mods required to log on. EDIT: Ah, missed the uninstall step. Nevermind. EDIT2: Nope, something's borked. There's no mods in the mod folder (Is that where they should install with the quick installer?) but it's showing me as having several non-core mods. The Necessaries mod is one version out of date, and the latest download from the downloads page isn't installing the latest version. Not sure if there's a mismatch in the downloads or if there's something up with my PC. I've tried uninstalling the mods twice (which required a reinstall to get the uninstaller back) but the old mod versions are still showing up in the manager. EDIT3: I've deleted everything I could find relating to the mods, but they're still turning up in the mod list. I'd rather not have to do a complete wipe-and-reinstall because of some mods deciding they definitely exist when they don't.
  9. Limestone and chalk are common, and if you explore beaches you'll start stumbling across seashells. While they aren't exactly the best way of getting it, they provide a way to get enough for making a bit of leather.
  10. Is the vanilla server still going? And if so, could I get whitelisted please?
  11. Now, I know that animals can be domesticated and the plant species are already there, but one little feature I'd like to see is a domestication altering the appearance of the plants and animals. When humans first came about, flax, carrots, parsnips et al weren't a thing, and nor were domestic pigs, cattle, sheep etc. These evolved from wild ancestors after thousands of years of domestication. Now obviously this game isn't going to last thousands of years, so it'd have to be sped up, but I'd like it if the plants started off looking more wild and as you repeatedly planted them they'd start looking more and more like their modern day relatives. If it was mixed with some sort of mutation mechanic, it could be that as you increase yield, growth speed etc. the plants start to change appearance. If a similar mechanic was added to the animals, it'd be nice as well. It'd just be a nice little progress mechanic, nothing vital just a way of showing how you've moved from hunter-gatherer to sedentary.
