  1. Respectively: Probably, doubtful, mods are wierd, until mods get made (unless you mean a standalone game, in which case probably not), yes (I don’t know what you expected), didn’t you already ask that? @Tyron, I hope you’re taking notes for an FAQ page.
  2. Somewhere between a scripted loss and a tutorial sequence. While natural difficulty can exist, usually in the form of in-depth emergent gameplay, artificial ease exists wherever artificial difficulty does. Like ThatMaxGuy said, artificial difficulty doesn’t care how good you are, or more accurately, it allows the game to not care how good you are. Rubberbanding in a racing game is a good demonstration; if you’re playing “too well,” but the game wants you to be as challenged as anyone else, it makes the world around you more difficult. Consider also; if you’re playing Skyrim or a similar game, enemies become more powerful as you level on a global scale. Does this make sense in-world? Not really, or at least not to me; most people can’t train at the same rate a demigod can. That’s my take, I guess.
  3. Somewhere between that and an image upscaler.
  4. It looks… uh… it looks. My eyes are in pain.
  5. The mod mentioned has 67 degree angles too.
  6. That said, the developers won’t make the game harder than their vision entails either.
  7. If you dislike the gravel fields so much, you can increase the world rainfall/moisture.
  8. I’m waiting on the edge of my seat for pysically-based fishing, especially the ability to actually yank a fish out of the water
  9. Then why’d you reply??? edit: if the dev who posted here is to be believed, the new gamemode will be downloaded from the mod page and only the mod page, so it’d be simple to find and hard to confuse with VS and the engine.
  10. This suggestion, but with lake ice.
  11. That would be interesting, but I have no clue what would be preferable to standard settings. I get the idea to remove temp stability damage, though. As for the rest, I’d rather have a setting that flings you to world spawn if you died with low stability; situational permadeath seems like an excessive punishment.
  12. Hail is one of my least favorite weather types, but it’s funny as hell. Running around, trying to find who knows what? You’ll be fine, it’s only raining. Take a couple steps in the wrong direction, and suddenly you’re getting hit by chunks of flying ice!
  13. I love throwing rocks at the wildlife, it makes it so much easier to stab them to death.
  14. Carry around some deathcaps for that!
  15. maybe instead of a walk speed debuff, there could be a break speed debuff? Anything but a fully separate thirst system. I’d definitely prefer drinking providing a body temperature decrease, or whatever getting in water does.
  16. Give the devs some time. It takes a lot of tweaking to get worldgen to look right, and that takes a while.
  17. I don’t usually see much ore on mountains aside from the occasional surface copper, but I also don’t really bother prospecting in mountains. From what I understand of ore generation, they seem to just be more rock to dig through.
  18. I think dysentery and such shouldn’t be a problem unless you’re making explicitly risky decisions, just like you shouldn’t have to worry about your clothes’ durability unless you’re boxing polar bears. What said risky decisions should be is unclear to me; probably drinking salt water, for the most part.

    Coinage

Cool idea. I think if you wanted coins to have a stack size of 64, they should probably have a nugget cost of 2 per, and a way to craft straight from nuggets of softer metals (copper, gold). That way 1 stack of nuggets is one stack of coins.
  20. I’m pretty sure the new setting is 500%.

    New Idea

Titling this post “new idea” is a bold decision. Many people have suggested this before; the devs should look into this.
